BRIEF DESCRIPTION: TOTAL SURVIVOR
Here is a small list of things done in the last
10 yrs getting this car slowly back on the road.
both front pws fixed - new front half shafts -
PB update with modern hydro boost system -
1969 ft brake conversion - new timing chain set
alternator w/ 1 wire - and some hoses etc. Front
brakes - front control arm bushings too.
Prob more. But this stuff has been done over the
period of the last 10 or so yrs. And barely been
driven. Originally it was a green-gold color but
was painted its current RED about 20 yrs ago.
No signs of rust rot or previous damage. Needs
carb work for sure, it wont start when its cold unless
I spray a little gas down the carb. Once a little warmed
up it starts no problem. Ive only driven the car a few
miles to enjoy it. Tires on the steel stock wheels are
very old and mismatched.
Notice the 17" Alloy Wheels on the car in a few of the
pics. They are optional and Ill touch on those in a few.
Car is far from perfect, but it is a perfect car to finish
restoring and in the right hands, would be a great project
for someone to finish and enjoy. The fact that its a
black interior car adds points. Its not a restored car.
Aftermarket ignition switch in the dash. Vacuum hoses
to the hideaway headlights not connected or working.
Every few times you hit the key, the starter doesnt kick
out. So it will prob need a starter in the near future.
As of now, the car will start run and drive onto a hauler
with very little work for shipping purposes, yes.
Check out the pics and more info below...thanks
Odometer shows about 70k and could be original
knowing the history on this car, it just wasnt driven
much by the past owners.
DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND, apparently some people
who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules.
So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to
make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid.
Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!
These cars are getting harder to find esp in this condition
that are still affordable to most buyers.
ONE thing too, the mechanical fuel pump went out recently and for
now I just installed a temp inline E fuel pump to do the job and
move it around the yard and up and down the street.
IM pretty sure that was my fuel delivery problem, not losing gas
but failing mechanical fuel pump. Gas gauge is not working, but I know
that there is at least 4 gallons of gas in the beast now.
AND the 17" tires rub on the rear at the moment . If you choose to
get them with the pkg and win the vehicle, they are a $350 option.AND you will need to roll the rear fenders or go with a slightly lowerprofile tire overall.
DRIVETRAIN: very complete and original under the hood
and the motor sounds good. May hear a small exh leak. Its
had new plugs recently and a few other things including timing
chain set. The PS has been updated using some hydroboost items
from 97 Chevy 3500 (master, hoses etc) Auto trans shifts fine.
Brakes feel good too. After the car sits a few weeks it does puff
some blue smoke out the exhaust when you first start it up
but it stops quickly. (valve seals ?) Its an AC car and the AC did
work just a few yrs ago, but not so much anymore.
Last owner did all the conversions and repairs - not I.
INTERIOR: take a look, its really not in all the bad of shape.
Luckily it was in a garage most of its life and the rubber and
plastic didnt take too hard of a hit. Factory radio in dash, and
Gauges in the cluster look great. All the glass looks to be in good
shape too and work. A few courtesy lights missing. Both front PWs
work okay .See pics for more details
EXTERIOR:the body is in amazing shape. Not rust or rot on the
body, rocker and or trunk worth noting at all. No signs of any
previous accidents either. Personally if I keep it, its getting painted
black or a titanium color and all finish it if I dont sell it.
The chrome ft and rear bumpers are in really great shape too for
their age. Old red paint is flat and was done before the age of
clear coat back in the 80s. They did do a complete job though.
Comes with the stock steel wheels. The pics of the car with the
17" alloy wheels are OPTIONAL . Car looks great with them on and
just drop down the front torsion bars about 2" and this car would
even be more wicked !
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks normal and very original
for its age. Its not restored, but probably be okay with a little
resto on the bushings etc. Car rides great even on old crappy tires.
The 17" Alloys are pretty light-weight over stock, figured if the
car was painted Silver they would look sweet.
Some bushings up front are new too on the control arms as
are the outter tie rod ends are new. Most of the ft brake components
are new too.
This car really was way ahead of its time.
Check out ALL the pics below ----->
it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
