Life changes, so up for sale at no reserve, my rare, complete*, 1942 Series 62 Cadillac 6269 sedan. 1942 automobiles were built for only a few months before production was shut down to convert to WW 2 materiel production, Cadillac shut down auto production in mid-February, 1942.
I have started disassembly of this complete* car for repaint and some rechroming but it is still yard drive-able. Nice, solid, good running car but needs carb overhaul (at least an accelerator pump), left rear axle seal (and probably new brake linings there) and water pump rebuild, has incorrect water temperature sending unit. Solid frame, floor and trunk pans; spare tire well has been repaired, underside has surface rust only, see pics. Radio turns on and hums but no sound from the speaker. New battery, charging system working (6 volt, positive ground). Three speed manual transmission. Original 150 HP flathead 346 cu. inch V-8. Any missing pieces in the pics., such as the horn ring and side trim are with the car but have been removed for re-chrome, however, no re-chroming has been started. Nice project with little to no metal rust repair needed. Or, reassemble, make the repairs listed above, and use it as a decent driver. More pics. available on request. Clear Florida title. 1942 Cadillac Owner’s Manual, factory Shop Manual and Fisher Body manual included.
Winning bidder to pay $500, non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. Paypal OK for deposit, cash or wire transfer for the balance. Car available for inspection most anytime with prior arrangement. Questions, please contact me through eBay.
