1976 Cadillac DeVille Description

This car was parked in a garage from 1989 to 2017. The following describes what I have done for the car since 2017 and full disclosure of what I have discovered since 2017. Original 500 cu engine like new. Excellent transmission. Many new parts professionally installed; Belts, hoses, vacuum lines, ignition coil, plugs, wires, radiator. New "American Classic" whitewall radial tires (not installed). New rear body extenders includes complete brightwork trim (not installed). New 750 cca Max Life battery. New muffler and some exhaust replaced. All rubber fuel lines correctly replaced. Original rust-free gas tank restored with a protective coating inside. New fuel sending unit installed. Leather seats, headliner, carpet, door panels and armrests and dash are excellent original. Three inch writing pen mark in headliner. Vinyl top is excellent and without blemish. Front and rear bumper chrome is excellent and in show condition. Front hood brightwork, rocker stainless and all four door thresholds are without dents or dings and show ready. All four hubcaps are excellent. The list of what this classic Cadillac needs is much shorter than what it doesn't need to become a prize winning investment. And as evidenced by the inside of the rear fender skirts, this low mileage car has never been exposed to road salt. This is a true, low mileage, southern, collector classic. I recommend complete brake service and replace fluid, filter in the transmission to be ready for the road. Due to low miles, I am sure the air conditioner, brakes, transmission fluid are original to the car and are overdue for service. Otherwise starts easily, drives nicely, shifts smoothly, stops well with no grab or vibration, no leaks on the garage floor, perfect steering and handling. All windows work. One door ding in chrome trim at right rear side. Hood hinges are not closing properly. Hood does open and close securely. There was a drain on the battery and when all was quiet I discovered the heater fan blowing softly with the car shut off so now I disconnect the battery when I store the car. Interior lights work properly. Body has a few small surface rust spots resulting from failing paint but not from exposure to road salt. No wrecks. Solid straight body. No hidden defects. Easy restoration and a sound investment for the price. $5,250 (firm)
