1984 Cadillac Seville - one-family-owned and kept at the summer lake home.
1984 Cadillac Seville Description
This 1984 Cadillac Seville was owned by a nice family that bought it new and kept it at their lake home to drive in the summers there. It's rock solid and in fantastic condition. I personally wouldn't be afraid to drive this car cross-country but of course I can't guarantee anything like that. I bought it from the son of the original owner - his dad - and they maintained it extensively and kept it in great shape. When I got it, there was a problem with the passenger side door lock so I had an automotive electric shop go through the whole car and make everything electrical work like new, which they did for $700. They even tracked down the correct horn so it has that classic Cadillac freight train-sounding horn! It has a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual power seats, and all of the power windows, locks, power seats, power antenna, and lights work inside and out. I have a big file of receipts for the maintenance work that was done by the original family and a few sets of original and very cool silver and gold Cadillac keys. Of course, the door locks all work as perfectly as you'd expect.
One modern convenience thing that I did is that I wanted the built-in garage door opener to work on our garage door so I researched it a bit and found that a later-model Cadillac door opener would slide right in, so I found one online and programmed it in literally one minute and it works perfectly with our newer rolling-code opener! I put the original, pre-rolling-code opener in the unused ash tray (the car has never been smoked in), along with the programming instructions for the newer opener, so the next owner can pop it in for car shows or just so they can have the original part. The original opener is shown in the photo, the newer one isn't as cool looking but it works perfectly. The cruise works like new and the trunk is amazing - everything is carpeted and It's a power-release trunk lid and it has a motorized soft-close feature so you just softly shut it and it pulls itself down tight. For 1984 that's cool! It even had the original GM trunk mat. The seats are perfect front and rear and the car even has the original full-length plush Cadillac-logo floor mat that stretches across the whole front floor. The rear passengers have individual plush Cadillac-logo floor mats over the thick, perfect carpet.
The tires have 15,000 miles on them and the brakes work perfectly and don't make any sounds at all. The power steering is as easy and Cadillac-like as you would expect as are the power brakes. The doors shut like a bank vault and it's just a great car. It just barely and I mean barely fits in our garage so I have to park my regular car outside and I'm not too popular taking up so much room in the garage. I'm hoping that the next owner will not drive it in the winter if they live where salt is used on the roads. There is one small door ding on the bottom of the front passenger door and a small chip on the top of the hood. It's a really elegant car and I drive it almost every day and it never fails to get waves and thumbs-up, and I mean every single time I drive it. I've never owned a car that has gotten so much attention as this Seville has.
The usual stuff: I have a clean and clear title in my name and there is no warranty but as far as I know there's nothing wrong with it, but it is a 35-year-old car. Shipping is up to the seller to line up but I can meet the shipper when it comes time to have it picked up and sent to you. $500 is due upon auction end via PayPal and the balance due within 7 days - or pay the whole thing at once in cash or with PayPal, and of course it has to be paid for before the shipper picks it up. PayPal takes a percentage which is unfortunate, but it's probably the easiest way for buyers to pay. I'm willing to lose a bit of money to make it easier for the next owner to get it as soon as possible. No checks and no bank account numbers for direct deposit, sorry. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!
