1959 Cadillac Series 62 Description

This is "Calico," my 1959 Cadillac Series 62 four door sedan.
Very complete California car, running project with tons of new parts, mostly just needs brakes. I was building her as my daily driver, but life is forcing me to sell now. Would make a great rat rod beater, or she's complete enough that a fresh paint job would really turn her around.

She has a correct (not numbers matching) 1959 Cadillac 390 V8 motor that was rebuilt maybe 5 years ago and put on a shelf, until I put it in this car. The engine fires up, runs and idles...sounds surprisingly good. New motor mounts, new belts, new ignition coil, new spark plugs & wires, rebuilt generator. Oil filter leaks out the top bolt somehow, and exhaust is rotted off, so she will wake the neighbors!
See her start and run: https://youtu.be/e-IB-onAkgA or search "Calico cold start 1959 Cadillac" on Youtube.

Engine is mated to a 1958 Cadillac transmission, with 1959 tail shaft and original 1959 drive line. Trans cooler lines, center carrier bearing and U joints were replaced. Fresh trans fluid, but transmission slips a bit, mostly in reverse.

Cooling system has a new 3 row aluminum radiator, new water pump, new thermostat, new radiator hoses. Fresh coolant and distilled water.

New fuel tank, new fuel sending unit, new filler neck, new fuel pump and new hose back to front.

Body is surprisingly straight, and doesn't have terrible rust. Just some bubbles on the front fender bottoms, some cancer in rear quarter bottoms, and some holes in the front floor. Trunk floor, rear window area, and rest of the car looks solid. Brand new windshield, but some flat window glass is cracked. Windshield wipers and trunk chrome trim are there. Keys for ignition and trunk, but no door key.

Only thing it needs to be a driver (at least for me) is getting the brakes done. The parking brake works, and that's what I use when I move her around, so that's a good start. I'll throw in a set of hard brake lines I bought for it.
I hate to see her go, but no choice. Clean California title, pink slip in hand, non-op with the DMV so no fees.
