You can’t spell freedom without convertible and you can't spell America without Cadillac. Think about it, you’d be four vowels short of the Fourth of July. Turn off the news, shut off your phone and go cruise this baby down the Boulevard with the top down and celebrate everything great this country truly is!
A 1965 Cadillac DeVille Convertible just in time for firework season! Have you ever tried to watch fireworks from a hard top? If you enjoyed it, you’re probably the same person that sits in the front row at the movie theater. Roll the top down and let your freedom flag fly baby!
We the people of this Caddy in order to form a more perfect convertible established a new paint job of Red, White and Blue. The body of this beauty is no trailer queen, it's meant to be driven and not to be afraid to do so. The Chrome shines a hell of a lot brighter than the Liberty Bell and without the cracks though showing its age and having imperfections its less pitted than the craters on the moon. The trunk is comparable to the Constitution in that its had some amendments and just like Betsy Ross would do to Old Glory we patched up the rear passenger floor pans rust holes with some new metal. This great country invented electricity and wouldn’t you know the headlights and tail lights all work. Windows do too, though the right rear window can be a little stubborn going down but with a wiggle of the switch it will cooperate.
To keep on rock’n in the USA all gauges, speedometer, odometer, windshield wipers all work. Mileage reads 62,169 but I don't know that is the actual mileage. Heater and air conditioning don’t work. It’s a convertible though so you’re gonna drive this with the top down and have free air conditioning anyway. Clock doesn’t work, but when you’re driving this you’ll lose track of time anyway. Radio doesn’t work but the hum of 429 cubic inches will keep you company and you wont even miss it.
Interior was redone a few years ago and is whiter than the peaks of the Rocky Mountains complete with a new set of blue factory floor mats. The top just like the our flag is still there and while it hasn't been through bombs bursting in air, it’s a little faded and sluggish to go up and down but still works. The top vinyl was replaced years ago as well and is faded and has a few wear marks behind the rear windows.
The engine has a new carburetor and with the transmission was rebuilt about 10 years ago, so while these colors don’t run this car sure as hell will. Steering is a little loose but you can keep it between the lines. Tires are brand new.
Just to reiterate, this car isn’t a perfect 100 point concourse vehicle, but it turns more heads than a chiropractor, and you’ll have a lot of fun driving it. Distance yourself in style and comfort and give a bid to this American built beauty.
The paint and body work is fairly new. The paint isn’t perfect but it sure looks great. Some body filler was used before the paint was applied. The chrome is all original and is showing its age. It does still shine but is rusty in places too. One of the front bumper horns is rusted through on the very bottom but you can't tell unless you look underneath.
