Here we have a 1958 Cadillac 2door, VIN: 58G050810. Car has 83500 miles on it and has a 390 v8 engine. This car has gone through a long 15 yearrestoration and is 100% rust free. This car was purchased fifteen years or soago for a father and son project car. This car was purchased from the original owners family fromPeru New York, it still has the original registered plate with it.Here is a description of this unbelievable car, after the purchase of this car it has been in the garage being worked on throughout the years of ownership and we have photos to show the progress. The car today runs and drives great. When theproject was startedthe car was stripped down to the frame, sandblasted and painted frame and fixed rear trunk up with new metal and was all mig welded together. It also has two full rocker panels bent up by a machinist, inner and outers. The floors were also mig welded with new metal, all of the trunk was done, there are machinist made rear wheel wellsthey are octagonal, excellent job on these. Purchased were original rust free front fenders, front inner wheel wells, hood, trunk lid. Both doors were repaired on the bottoms. New windshield with new rubber seal. Rear window all redone with new caulking. New front upper control arms. New control arm bushings and rebuilt rear control arms. New gas tank, shocks, brake shoes all around. The drums were all turned, new brake lines, new brake cylinders, front coil springs, steering coupler, steering wheel and horn ring in great shape, new front wheel bearings repacked, new front stabilizer bar link kit, new transmission lines, gas line new, radiator is new, new heater fan, new dash cover and dash painted white, doors also prepped and painted white, door rubber j seals new but not installed yet, new black carpet and white headliner also not installed. All headliner rods are there. The trunk is also prepped and finished in white, new trunk seal installed, new master cylinder rebuilt but needs the power brake booster rebuilt. All new universal joints, new exhaust, new battery, all the chrome is there, some needs re-chroming. Only missing passenger rear well molding,(they sent the wrong one so I have two driver side!), the lower rocker moldings and the spears on the quarters which I believe every58 Cadillac owner hit there garage on the way in!.Chrome door flippers are in great shape and work properly, long drip rails are great, hood and trunk "V"'s are there but the inserts need replacing, the front bumper is excellent shape and also the grille, front headlamp bezels are great driver quality, rear window chrome all there and driver quality, the rear lights and housings are there but need some tlc,. All windows are there and working, door handles there and working. Interior dash cluster is in great shape, gauges all work, clock is there but after 58 years is relaxed on telling time. The whole interior is there and complete as far a trims and panels with all door handles and window handles. The interior is out being refinished in white with black trim and inserts. I have a picture of what it will look like. It is in the process of being done. It is being done by an "old school" interior shop that dose top notch work. All four original hubcaps are there and in great driver quality shape with new rubber that is made original for this year vehicle. The engine was redone, did not need rebuild but refreshed it only taking down out only 8(eight) thousands of an inch, put new rings, rod and main bearings, lap valves, gasket kit and seals, didn't have much luck with the rear main seal, used the original wick type and the machine shop said it would probably drip and it dose, have the up graded seal but not installed, water pump rebuilt, new belts, replaced exhaust manifolds, did a complete carb rebuild and she purrs like a kitten. New electronic ignition installed, plugs wires, ect..Transmission rebuilt and shifts great, new alternator, removed old generator and installed new modern one. The wipers work but believe the vacuum pump need rebuilding, wiper blades are new. The original stereo is in the dash but has a nice aftermarket one installed, sounds great. New emergency brake cable system installed. All the body work has been done to a great driver quality appearance and finished in a sealed matt black finish. Will not rust like flat primer, actually can be driven daily and washed like paint. There is a special sealer/wax made for this finish. This car is 95% finished in need or a few minor things, but is able to be driven down the road to car show or local drive ins. If you would like to take this car as it sits and finish the interior we have everything complete for it again in a white/black finish. Keep in mind this is a 1958 car and is sold as is, we are able to send more detailed pictures and video's if requested. I would love to have this car in the garage, but unfortunately it is full to the seams and this car is just to nice to park out side in the New England elements, with a heavy heart we are putting here up for sale knowing it will be extremely hard to replace. (The wife will only go for so many toy's).
