1964 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster 4 Speed
1964 Chevrolet Corvette Description
Up for sale is a nice black on red 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster 4 speed.
Exterior:
- The paint looks to be older and has some small cracks in a few places and a spot that has been touched up on top of the right rear quarter panel. Overall it looks good from 10-15 feet or so away but up close you can see the imperfections.
- The convertible soft top is in good condition and doesn't have any tears or holes in it. It looks like the car had a hardtop on it at some point but I do not have the hardtop.
- The front bumpers look to be in pretty good shape but are not perfect. The trim around the windshield and all emblems are in good shape as well, and show some light wear, scuffs etc. The rear bumpers are showing a little more wear and could stand to be rechromed to be super nice but they are straight and not bent up.
- All of the glass is in good shape and only show some very light scuffs.
- The wheel covers are in good driver shape overall and show some light scuffs here and there with only one or two dings in the set of 4.
- The headlight doors do operate correctly and rotate up and down by the factory switch on the underside of the dash.
- All of the head lights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals do operate.
Interior:
- The seat covers show a little wear and the material is a little loose but overall they are in good shape.
- The carpet is showing some wear as well but seems to be in pretty decent shape.
- The dash is in really good shape overall but is showing a little wear on top of the instrument cluster.
- All of the gauges work as well as all of the instrument panel lights.
- The steering wheel is in really good shape.
- The center console is also in really good shape.
Drivetrain:
- The engine is a really good running small block Chevy that seems to have a bit bigger cam than stock, an aluminum Edelbrock 4 barrel intake manifold painted the same color as the engine to keep the original look and feel to the engine bay, with an electric choke Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor. It has great oil pressure, starts right up and doesn't run hot, even in this hot Texas weather we have been getting.
- The transmission shifts very well and the clutch feels nice and smooth.
Suspension:
- The car has power brakes, and while they are still 4 wheel drums all the way around, the car does stop very well.
- The manual steering feels really good and responsive and is not difficult to steer, even in low speed parking lot type situations.
- It really is an enjoyable car to drive.
