My Pain your Gain
Here is a newly finished 1966 Chevy C10 RestoMod with less than 100 miles on it as of this posting. It is a Nut and Bolt frame off restoration with nearly all stainless hardware. Chassis frame has been coated with Rust Bullet base coat and topped with Rust Bullet Black Shell Gloss. The overall scheme was to black the truck out as much as possible and lean towards a dark aggressive look that fits the stance. The paint is a matte/satin charcoal nearly black finish below the main body line and the upper half gloss. The paint and finish is not perfect and was not intended to be due to the fact I was going to sand and burnish some of the paint to give it a slightly worn look in the end. The bed stake pockets and side trim holes were filled along with the old gas filler cab hole. I will include the aluminum trim that was originally on the truck before the build.
Powertrain & Drivetrain
It has a gm 383 stroker built by White Performance and Machine located in Tennessee. (http://www.whiteperformance.com). Dyno pull numbers 500 ft/lbs Trq and 540 HP. It is fully dressed and soaking wet in aluminum. Oxygen flows through a Spectre Quikit Dual Plenum aluminum air filter system and on to the Holley SL-750-VS. Exhaust notes are funneled through a pair of Sanderson CC10_158 silver ceramic coated headers and decibel overload Dynomax Race Bullet Mufflers. Cooling is provided by a pair of Derale fans shrouded and pumping 3750cfm of air through the Champion 4 core polished aluminum radiator. Oh, and the Pertronix 600 digital rev limiter will keep you from crying late at night in a small closet.
Coupled to the motor is a Monster built Automatic/Manual 700R4 High Performance Race transmission with 2300-2500 stall and Lockup converter. Shifting is outstanding using the B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter! Continuing rearward is an Inland Empire 3.5” aluminum driveline, a 12 bolt GM axle housing filled with an Eaton Posi differential, Currie axle shafts and a Deluxe Trac bar keeps the housing nice and centered.
The Suspension;
A quite handsome suspension capable of handling the truck throwing its weight around. Power steering, tubular A arms and large front and rear sway bars limit vertigo when pulling out of Starbucks too fast! Traction is provided by a set of Nitto NT555’s wrapped around Boss 18X8’s upfront and 20x10’s in the back yard. It has 4 wheel power disc brakes that include large slotted and cross drilled zinc washed rotors.
How about inside?
Pretty simple but that’s what this truck is about. It has all new glass and rubber, a pair of leather bucket seats that are gray and black appointed by red stitching. The driver seat is power and adjusts to fit your needs as a future 66 owner. Power windows are by NuRelics window lifts and are controlled by the switches in the custom center console.
Extra details;
The truck was an original factory air cab C10 Custom as you will see from the interior pictures. The chrome compressor is new and all of the interior AC/Heat equipment has been disassembled and rebuilt utilizing the factory components. The only thing you have to do is plumb it with the hoses, receiver/dryer, and condenser. I thought it was important to keep the original equipment with the truck. As you all know it takes a Conga Line of Greenbacks to build a custom vehicle and I believe what I’m asking is fair. If you have a question, please ask, and I will respond in a timely fashion.
Okay---
PLEASE DO NOT BID unless you feel that I have thoroughly conveyed enough information to help you make a solid decision about your purchase. You are free to look at the vehicle before bidding. The winning bidder must pay a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hrs of auction close.
If you desire more pictures and a short video of the truck you may follow the links that I have provided;
UPDATE TO DESCRIPTION:
Thank you all for watching and viewing the truck. PLEASE see the few additional pics located at the google drive site. Here are a few more items that you need to be aware of that slipped my attention:
**The interior side kick panels have not been completed. I was debating covering the vent holes and putting a solid carpet panel or possibly a custom speaker panel. I have the original vents that you can blast and paint if you desire to do so.
**The housing for the cigarette lighter has not been ordered and the knob portion of the element could be replaced.
**The other knobs are in pretty good shape and my hopes were to keep some of the originality on the instrument bezel
**I've included a few more pics on google drive of the exterior paint and body.
I believe the starting bid is appropriate for where the truck is at and especially considering some of the values of other trucks without near the level of restoration.
