This is my 1984 Corvette. She has been babied her entire life, and I offer the odometer as proof. Just 35,580 original miles. My father bought this car in 1995 with 17 thousand miles on it; I got the car from him. I have loved this car for 21 years now, but it is time for her to go to a new home so I may make room for other things in my life.
This is a true ‘barn find’. A very clean ‘driver quality’ car, having the perfect balance between looking great and not being so expensive you are afraid to drive it. I would rate it in nearly excellent condition, you could easily drive this car every day for years and sell it for a good price when you were done.
1984 WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF THE C4 CORVETTE - AWARDED "CAR OF THE YEAR" IN 1984BY MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE.
VERY STRONG – 100% ORIGINAL - CODE "L83" - 350 CID - "CROSS FIRE" -FUEL INJECTED V8 MOTOR WITH ORIGINAL VALVE COVERS "CROSS FIRE" SCRIPTED AIR CLEANER HOUSING.
Included with the car are two sets of rims. The original rims had been cleaned improperly by the original owner and look faded (see pictures), so I replaced them with a set from a 1986 corvette. They have no flaws.
The entire exhaust is stainless steel.
The electronic instrument cluster has been professionally rebuilt (a requirement due to a known GM design fault.)
This Corvette is also the perfect car if you were looking to get into the car-collecting hobby, or just enjoy going to car shows. It would require very little money, comparatively, to make this corvette perfect.
A new computer chip has been installed, reducing the automatic transmission’s tendencies to shift to early in order to improve fuel economy. The original chip is in perfect working order and will be sold with the car. It is a very easy “plug and play” swap.
Being 32 years old the car does have a few items that need addressed: The largest being that the A/C no longer holds a charge.
The headliner sags.Right door lock/unlock is very stiff.
The weather striping around the back glass has shrunk, but does not leak. One light under the hood does not work, I do not know why.
The car does show signs of her age inside and out:
The paint is not perfect, but has no scratches or dents, always garage kept. The interior is no longer perfect, the drivers seat has some wear and the drivers floor mat is a bit discolored.
One of the rear compartments no longer locks.
