1967 Chevrolet Impala Description

For your consideration I have a 1967 Impala convertible project car. In original form, this car was a 327/PG featuring air conditioning, tilt column, speed minder, remote drivers mirror and vanity mirror. The engine and transmission are no longer with the car, all other options present and in good condition. I purchased this vehicle in 2000 and began the restoration process, but over the years, having built several other Impalas in between, I have found my interest in these old boats has left me and decided to part with this last one to sponsor a newer toy needing less work. Things that have been completed so far: Installed disc brakes from a 69 Impala. All front brake components have been replated or painted. New calipers and hoses. The rotors were turned but I know they are too thin and should be replaced. The steering and suspension components have been cleaned and painted and replaced as necessary. All front bushings are new. Brake booster is an awesome original survivor featuring a rebuilt master cylinder. Brake lines are detailed originals. The frame from the firewall forward was stripped and painted. Some of these details are likely a bit dirty, faded or scratched but still present quite nicely. The right rear floor pan had some light rot around the drain hole, so I replaced that section of floor. The panel under the rear seat showed many pinholes and pitting so this panel was replaced with an excellent used original panel. all remaining floor panels are solid save for a 3X5 inch spot on the right front toe panel. I have a clean used original panel to repair this issue. The front fenders had the usual hole behind the wheel but also unusual rot behind the front ornaments so I chose to replace the fenders. The fenders came from a big block Caprice, this explains the holes for big block emblems. The holes for the Impala moldings will need to be drilled into the replacement fenders. All metal work was completed on the fenders, the right front was repaired, primed, blocked and primed again to a final primer stage. Left fender needs no metal work, but will need to be sanded clean and repaired. Doors were clean with no rot, no swelling of the inner lip and only superficial dings which have been repaired, primed, blocked and reprimed to final primer state. The trunk lid and hood have no rot repairs on them, just repaired dings and are also final primer. The right quarter panel was replaced with new aftermarket panels. again, repaired, primed, blocked and reprimed to final primer state. While I say these panels are all final primer, this car has sat in the garage untouched for several years. I would highly recommend going over all finished panels with guide coat and a long board to insure that no dings or flaws have showed up on the panels. The dash is original and unmessed with other than the wires for the radio which have been cut. Dash pad has small crack on upper right side. all trim on dash in nice condition, Instruments are clean with minimal fade and no corrosion. The tilt mech is tight and works great. The steering wheel is from a Belair, Will not accept the Impala shroud and I don't have a Belair shroud to fit it. The seats covers are older reproductions and are still respectable, but nothing you want to try and win a trophy with. If you are building on a budget, the seats will be good for a few years as you save up to replace them. The rear convertible only seat frame is not rotted like so many others out there. The side panels are present, the rears could be detailed and salvaged for a budget job but the front door panels are junk. The convertible top is very soiled and has a one inch rip over the center of the front seat. The rear trim strip on the top is weak and coming off. I have an excellent used black top I removed from my 66 convertible with the intent of reusing it. It was new when installed and only on the car for about 3 years. This item is included if you wish. The trunk floors had issues. I have the right side panel installed but it will need a bit more welding and then finishing work. I have a new left side which is included but not installed. I also have the 2 piece aftermarket left quarter panel pieces that are included. The frame on this car is in excellent condition. This car never sat outside behind grandpas barn, It has not been "hot rodded" or wrecked. While only hastily bolted on, it is apparent that all panels will have nice lines and gaps. The car was in a hail storm and much of the trim was damaged. I purchased high quality original replacement trim for many of the damaged items including side moldings, windshield moldings, front header moldings. I did purchase a set of rear boot snap moldings, but at this point I can not locate them, so assume they are not there. If I find them, they will be included. The wheels are 15X8 rear and 15X7 front rallys. Major items this car will need include engine, transmission, exhaust, shocks, rear brakes and bushings, interior panels, carpet, windshield, top, tires. The front hood/headlight trim here is marginal and depending on your skills may need replaced. The trunk lid molding is missing the insert but the panel itself is good. Except for windshield, all factory windows are present and in good condition. The gas tank has a few dents, but when I look inside, all I see is clean galvanized so a good internal was should be all it needs to be functional. Bumpers are cores. The grille is shiny and straight needing only detailing. I realize that I have written a novel here but I like my customers to know exactly what they are bidding on with no surprises. If by some chance you have questions that are not addressed in the description, please feel free to call me after 5:30 PM Central time. This is a very viable project that while showing its Wisconsin rust issues, has not been abused. You will not be on a never ending quest for missing parts. You will not find hidden rot around every corner. I won't BS, this car needs TLC, tools, labor and cash! But it is WAY better that most any other "project" you will find out there, especially in the upper midwest. Available ONLY to the winning bidder, I have a set of brand new ceramic coated Patriot small block headers, brand new aluminum radiator with aluminum shroud and Spal fans, bucket seats and center console. These additional items are NOT included but will be made available to the winner at deeply discounted prices. I have about 75 pictures I can email to serious inquirers.

I have had some folks express concerns over the shipping prices listed in my ads. Please understand, I DO NOTpersonally set the shipping costs, eBay does. All I do is enter the dimensions and weight of the package and eBay shipping calculator spits out the shipping cost based on your zip code. If you have concerns, please direct them to eBay. Except for unusually large or fragile items, I do NOT charge you for packaging materials, tape, padding or transport to the shipper, unlike many other sellers. I supply all of this on my own, all YOU pay for is UPS or USPS. .
<<<<<<<<!!** In person inspection of items and free pickup are always welcome**!!>>>>>>>>
Quoted shipping costs DO NOT include insurance!! UPS covers packages up to $100, after that there IS an additional charge. I do not require insurance as some folks do not like the extra cost and others do not like the extra risk. Insurance is YOUR CHOICE and it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to inform me if you wish to have your package insured.
I do my best to have all packages shipped within 48 hours of payment received but on occasion this time frame may be extended to allow me time to locate the best materials to insure your item arrives undamaged.
All items are sold AS IS! I try very hard to give accurate and honest descriptions of all my items. The best thing you can do if you are unsure is to ASK QUESTIONS!! Questioning is the number one best way to get the information you need.
I do my best to be accurate in listing the proper applications for items I sell but in the end, the responsibility of verifying proper application falls on YOU, the bidder. If you are not sure if the item is correct for your application, ASK QUESTIONS!! If you purchase an item on an assumption and it turns out to be incorrect, I am not responsible.
