1956 Chevrolet Nomad Bel Air- 2 Door Description

This Nomad is in excellent condition. It was purchased in 1998 and has remained in our temperature controlled garage 99.9% of the time since. When it was purchased, t was in the condition you see it in today. Interior is gorgeous, eats are red vinyl fabric - no rips, ears or stains. This is an original car that has been well taken care of, ot thrashed and abused before a devoted owner came through to restore it.

The exterior is beautiful, nd is truly an eye-catcher. Those not familiar with the geography and weather of Washington state might not know that the westside of the state is what earns the state’s reputation for being constantly rainy and overcast. The eastside of the state is in a rain shadow caused by the Cascade Mountains. This provides for low humidity and very little precipitation which leads to vehicles avoiding rust in all of its ugly forms. There are a few very small chips in the paint and a vertical, ard to notice paint split on the right side, ow on the car behind the right side door. This seems hardly worth mentioning, s it is sounds much worse than it appears. Most of the chrome, hich is all original with regard to the taillights, s shiny and gorgeous, hough there are a couple of areas that have a bit of pitting.

One of the costliest upgrades to this Nomad was the engine. It was removed and sent to a local expert on Chevy small blocks to be “gone through”. The engine was absolutely rebuilt from scratch. Every component was measured or tested; anything that was even marginal was replaced or refinished. The engine, he factory 265 c.i., BBL, as been fully rebuilt. The result was worth the cost, s the engine springs to life with minimal effort from the starter, ven after sitting.

As to the rest of the drivetrain, he original Powerglide wasn’t providing smooth shifts, o after much diagnosis and adjustment, he transmission was replaced with a professionally rebuilt Powerglide transmission. The original transmission is included with the sale of the vehicle. The rear differential was beginning to whine/moan during cruises and was rebuilt with all new components, ave for the axles. It is a factory open differential (non-posi), ut a fresh posi/limited slip differential is included with the sale of the vehicle, hould you choose to have a limited slip rear end. New tires, xhaust is newer, he car is one of the best color combinations that were produced. Take a look at the pictures, nd feel free to ask any questions you might have. I have over a hundred pictures, ut could only upload 24 due to ebay’s policy. If you have an area of the vehicle you would like further photos of, lease don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking!!
