1967 Chevrolet C10, half ton, 2wd, original short box pickup with just under 500 miles on a complete frame up restoration to original condition, except for the motor. Original short box: not a shortened long box frame. The two numbers stamped into the frame match the VIN numbers on the SPID label and the door jamb VIN tag. CST trim with Panoramic back glass and buddy bucket seats. Updated power steering system. Originally came with a 327 motor and a Powerglide transmission: replaced with a 1970 pickup 402 motor and a TH400 transmission with the original Quadrajet. Factory 12 bolt rear end with positraction and 3:42 gears. Not an AC truck. Every piece of rubber, plastic, vinyl, wiring, glass, all drive train and suspension components and interior parts as well as exterior trim plus every nut, bolt, screw and other fasteners were replaced with new items or refurbished.
The drive train was rebuilt to factory specs from the u-joints on up. The L-47, 402 ci motor is a 310 hp unit with a suffix code of TBG. The transmission and rear end have been rebuilt to factory specs as well. The front and rear suspensions and brake systems have been completely rebuilt with all new tie rod ends, shocks, bushings, ball joints, brake components and bearings. An Early Classic spring refit has dropped the truck 2” in the front and 4” in the rear.
The original cab, doors, cowl vent panel, fenders, hood and frame were media blasted to bare, rust free metal prior to the application of anticorrosion materials, primer, surfacer and base/clear materials from PPG. The bed parts including box sides, tailgate and floor are new parts.
The buddy bucket seats are recovered in period correct, hounds tooth material. The OEM look alike radio is from Retrosound with BlueTooth and UBS connections installed in an uncut dash. All new carpet, seals, weather stripping, insulation, door internals, mount bushings, wiring, glass and trim were installed. All exterior trim including bumpers, headlight assemblies, grill, logos, handles, locks, mirrors, moldings, etc. were replaced with largely new, aftermarket parts with some NOS and original parts utilized where available and of good quality.
An Idaho and Western Montana truck for its entire life. Original owner’s manual and SPID label. All receipts available. Over a hundred before, in process and after pictures available. http://s1344.photobucket.com/user/CABCtrucks/library/1967%20Chevy%20C10%20Red
One of the nicest, restored C10 pickups available, and just drives nice.
