BODYWORK/TRIM
As far as styling goes, few vehicles have aged better than late '60s and early '70s Chevys. In fact, toeing the line between rock-solid and refined, the Action Line C/K is probably one of the most attractive trucks ever built. This C10, sporting straight, rust-free sheetmetal, benefitted from a detailed, ground-up restoration which subjected silky white 2-stage to hours of thorough buffing and careful color-sanding. At the front of the truck, a stainless-trimmed grille hangs a red bowtie and factory parking lamps between a polished bumper and modern, chrome-trimmed headlights. At the sides of that grille, a wet looking profile centers classy "Custom" emblems between chrome door handles, familiar bowtie mirrors and segmented marker lamps. At the top of that profile, new chrome and fresh weather stripping seal tinted glass behind stainless wipers. At the center of the truck, fresh skid strips secure textured bed planks around a hidden fuel filler. And at the back of those planks, a stamped tailgate stretches an appropriate "CHEVROLET" script between sleeved chains, small LED taillights and a second polished bumper.
ENGINE
Pop the hood and you'll find a reliable, 327 cubic inch Chevrolet small block that's been carefully rebuilt and thoroughly dressed. Revs are created when a "CHEVROLET" branded air cleaner floats wind in to an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, by way of a coated Holley carburetor. At the perimeter of that intake, textured Chevrolet valve covers hang a bowtie-stamped breather over cast GM exhaust manifolds. Behind that breather, a trusty MSD distributor shoots spark through premium MSD Street Fire Wires. At the front of those wires, a smooth serpentine system spins fluid power steering and a quality Stewart water pump beneath a rebuilt alternator and Sanden AC compressor. And in front of those ancillaries, a beefy radiator keeps everything cool with the help of two SPAL puller fans. Despite being a thoroughly massaged piece, the Chevy Orange mill looks right at home in the truck's pinstriped engine compartment. And details like polished fuel lines, bowtie wing nuts and a Classic Performance Products master cylinder ensure this C10 runs every bit as good as it looks.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Slide under this rig and you'll find a solid factory undercarriage that's clean and ready to roll. The floors wear quality undercoating, which blends right in with the truck's Satin Black chassis. At the center of that skeleton, a chrome-trimmed Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed funnels torque through a tough 12-bolt axle. Modern power steering makes quick work of turns while power-assisted discs and drums bring everything to a halt. The aforementioned manifolds dump spent gases in to aluminized pipes, which employ brash Flowmaster mufflers. And everything rolls on traditional Chevrolet Rallies, which spin awesome Charcoal pigment between polished trim rings, red-trimmed Super Sport center caps and 235/70R15 Grand Am Radial GTs.
INTERIOR
Swivel this cool Chevy's doors and you'll find an awesome, 2-tone interior that's definitely one of the main highlights of the truck's build. A wide bench seat stretches bright stitching and silver piping around a crisp combination of Black and Saddle leather. In front of that seat, a black-trimmed dash hangs modern telemetry behind cool air conditioning and a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood CD player. Beneath that dash, fade-free carpet bridges the gap between stainless bowtie sills. At the sides of that carpet, color-keyed door panels anchor chrome handles and chrome cranks above seamless JL Audio speakers. And in front of the driver, a wood-rimmed Chevrolet Rally Wheel laps a modern, tilting column.
The classic truck market has never been better, and offerings like this clean C10 are a perfect testament why. With a reliable, well-dressed drivetrain, a comfortable interior and attractive factory lines, this Chevy is guaranteed to gain fans everywhere it goes.
