The origins of the Chevrolet El Camino reach back to Australia in 1932 when a farmer's wife asked Ford to build "a vehicle to go to church in on a Sunday and which can carry our pigs to market on Mondays." The El Camino has come a long way since the earliest days, yet it still makes a statement with the good looks of a Chevelle and the utility of a pickup.
This particular El Camino is badged as an SS 396, though it actually hides a 454 under the hood that makes almost 500 horsepower. Not sure if that makes this car a sleeper, or not. The engine has been dressed up with some polish, and sounds like a drag strip beast. Okay, definitely not a sleeper.
The interior has been spruced and boosted, too. This El Camino sports a great looking black interior and a great sounding aftermarket stereo system-on the off chance you ever tired of the engine's throaty song.
