1970 Chevrolet Chevelle no reserve Description
1970 Chevelle that is a running and driving car. The original color was Champagne Gold. It did not have a cloth top so it is good around the windows. The paint is older but has good shine and is the classic 20-20. 20 feet away and at 20 miles an hour it looks perfect but closer inspection will reveal several minor flaws. Which will not show up in the pics. The are is some bubbling above the right wheel opening (see pic). Also some scratches at the top of the divers door as well as small chips, scratches and dings elsewhere. Doors open and shut well as well as all the windows roll up and down. The interior is nice with the exception of the headliner. Mouse holes and a tear, It will need to be replaced. Alpine stereo with two speakers in the package tray. Dash is nice with a newer dash pad. Fuel gauge seams to be a little screwy. 350 engine runs strong but smokes when revved up. I changed the oil and this seamed to help but it is still there. It seams the more I drive it the better it gets but it is still evident when revved up. It may need valve seals. The engine will smoke the tire in the rear taking off-so this means its a open rear end. 350 turbo works well. Drum brakes work but need adjusted. The extra 454 is from the mid 70's, it has 781 oval port heads. I was told it ran well but I have never hear it run. If you don't want the 454 I will buy it back for $700. Thats what I have in it. The frame is good. I did find one spot of rust about the size of a golf ball on the pass front floor board. Trunk will need work see pics. Delivery is available up to 250 miles one way for $1.15 a loaded mile but you must call first. 765 206 0350 Steve I live 1 hour north of Indy.
Note- The hood is in good shape and its a GM hood! They bring some money buy themselves. Also the wheels are gm wheels 14X7
I reserve the right to stop this auction at anytime for $13,900 in cash- $13,200 if you don't want the extra 454

The engine runs well, but I decided to change the plugs anyway and take a compression reading. 6 of the 8 cylinders are 165 one is 170 and 1 is 160. So that's good. The old plugs did show signs of oil. The carb idle screws were way to far out so I thought in might be to much gas. I have bought a set of umbrella valve seals and will try to install today if possible. No it doesn't smoke at idle but does when revved up.

I did drive it down the road and took out a new plug to find it sooty already. The tail pipes are very sooty. I will drop two jet sizes in the Holley next chance I get if that does not do completely stop the smoking when revved up I am done messing with it. The engine runs strong for a stock 350. Thanks.
