1973 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with a full convertible top project that is about 90% complete. This is an original 37k mile truck, motor locked up in 1978 and sat until the 25 year restoration started in 1991. I know I’m slow. The parts needed to finish are included. This was a body-off restoration, which was built mainly as a Resto-mod. Big HP motor and classic factory looks.
Fresh paint job- NO RUST ANYWHERE, each and every body panel replaced with OEM NOS panels. Has one crack and one bubble. Added hood reinforcements. I have the correct grille for the truck but like the 78 grille more, and it’s included with the sale. Look at the restoration pics every body panel is new. The truck was a factory Burnt Orange and is now a factory Jeep color, Copper Brown Metallic. Has new windshield and rubber, all new weather stripping. Door glasses and regulators need installing.
383 Small Block, Holley 750 Double pumper, Dominator intake, Crane Compcam, 1.6 roller rockers, World Product heads 2.02/1.6 heads with 1.437 springs, Balanced bottom end, headers with Flowmaster exhaust, Has all AC components but needs to have custom brackets made to clear the tall valve covers which are necessary for the roller rockers,
3:73 gears, complete rebuild Warn lockouts in the front
SM465 4 speed Trans with full rebuild
NP205 Transfer case with full rebuild
New 33” General Grabber AT tires on powder coated factory Ralleys
All new shocks and steering stabilizer
Both drive shafts have been rebalanced
Original Seats front and rear with brand new upholstery need to be bolted down
All new carpet front and rear
Factory roll bar needs paint and installing
Factory dash pad in perfect condition, all new AC vents
Custom rear side panels, not equipped with side panels in 73
Factory AM radio in uncut dash, rare to find this as everyone cut the dash for the DIN size radios.
This is a factory tach truck but current tach does not work but have another factory tach to go in it, That cluster alone cost me 500 dollars. The oil pressure gauge in truck is an 80 psi since the 60psi just won’t cut it with the motor that’s in it, it runs 60 psi hot.
I have two consoles for it also one factory and one aftermarket.
Tilt column is tight and has no wear, also have new ignition and door lock cylinders.
Have 1977 door panels since finding 73-76 doors were impossible so the original panels are available in a separate action since they will not work without extensive body work.
I know there are quite a few details left out so any questions feel free to ask. While I know this is not a 35k dollar truck unfinished, it could be with a few hours and very little time. Yes it will run, drive, and stop on its own it is not road ready as per the needed completion listed above. You will not find a more rust free 1973 K5 anywhere. I currently have somewhere between 35 and 40 thousand invested in the truck. Some of the undercarriage may have surface rust since it has been put together to this point for three years and stored in a heated and air conditioned garage.
