I have not gotten the to stampings on the drivetrain, but can do so if necessary.
Up for sale is an almost all original (as far as I can tell), un-butchered Tri-Five project. 283 V8, Automatic transmission. still has the original paint even.
The only thing that appears to be missing is the original radio. The only thing that appears to have every been redone is the upholstery and the steering wheel.
I bought this project pretty much as you see it, in order to learn to work on cars. I haven't had the time or money to do really anything to it (and won't for theforeseeablefuture), so I figure I'd pass it on to someone who can give her the time and treatment she deserves.
When I bought it, I was told it was running when parked. Of course, it was parked well over a decade ago.
I pulled the headliner since it was trashed and hanging. I removed the carpet and rocker panel trim (and unbolted the seats) to get a full assessment of the the floorboard rot. I also removed the front trim, and that's about it. All said rocker/front trim is included.
A friend of mine (who knows more about such things than I do) said the engine isn't seized and that the points in distributor cap are new (at least was when I got the car). We tried to start it with some starting fluid to the carb but couldn't get it to start. He said those points could be the problem. That's literally as far as themechanicalswere tested or troubleshooted.
I have a clear title, signed over with Texas application form, but it is still signed by the previous owner...I never got it transferred into my name. I have some other paperwork too, but forget what it is. I don't think this car has been on the road since 2000. I *might* still have the key, but IIRC the ignition would tturn without it.
Mileage reads32,687 but no clue if it's rolled over.
The tires are all flat (and probably won't hold air).
The 4 main flat side windows are cracked but intact. The passenger vent window is gone. The windshields are intact, the front has a little bubbling.
Trim: About all present. some minor dings here and there. The bumpers need to be rechromed badly. pitting on the tail/headlight bezels, hood bullets, and grille trim. The hood bar grill trim is broken, and the front bumper has a dent. The original gold grill is mangled. The Chrevrolet scripts were also trashed.
There is a slight dent at the inside of the driver side rear fin. There is a shallow crease at the passenger outer by the rear bumper.
Rust:The worst part about the car, but totally fixable. I tried to picture everything accurately. The rust includes: top of cowl on both sides, inner bottom of A pillars, bottom of both front fenders, various spots on inner and outer rockers, outside of passenger B pillar, doglegs, driver and passenger front pans are completely shot, spots under seat, passenger rear pan, a good size hole by the rear driver well in trunk, and about 4 inches across the trunk at the decklid, and the decklid itself.
All the interior panels/trim/etc are all still there for re-upholstery. metals dulled and some pitted. Radio missing.
All in all, a very complete and intact project. Not a basket case, or roller, or completely ripped apart. Most of the body issues can be fixed with a new one piece floor, and somebody who knows wtf they're doing might even be able to get it running and driving in a day. You may call or text with any questions. 281-850-9086 Thanks, Justin
