1972 Chevrolet C-10 Description

1972 C10 Suburban w/ LS conversion and Air Ride that was originally a state vehicle from North Carolina. I looked for one of these for around 2 years and this was by far the best I found.I built this vehicle over a 3 yr. period with almost all of the mechanics, suspension and interior being new or rebuilt. I have a majority of the receipts for this build, and I can assure you that you cannot locate and build this vehicle with equal quality and aftermarket accessories for the reserve price…especially if you have to hire the work done by a local shop. This is a great vehicle that is very dependable, fully road tested and ready to enjoy with your entire family.

Here are some of the features:

Engine Compartment:

This was an awesome running and driving vehicle whenever I got it, but I wanted a more modern practical vehicle so the original drive train was removed and replaced with a low mileage LS engine/trans. This suburban can be driven anywhere and easily cruise on the interstate at 85mph. The engine compartment is very clean and detailed.

· 5.3 fuel injected engine with 4l60e trans w/ 60k miles. The engine & trans were stripped & painted with seals and gaskets replaced…engine and trans are very detailed. All engine accessories have been meticulously painted…starter, alternator & a/c compressor.

· Boyd’s Aluminum EFI Stealth gas tank with internal stealth pump and all new fuel lines

· Doug Thorley coated Tri-Y 5.3/C10 conversion Headers w/ Dual Flow Masters

· Spectre Cold Air Intake, filter and new Mass Air Flow sensor

· Early Classics Engine & Trans Mounts

· Custom wiring harness & programming from LT1swap w/ computer mounted in cab…all connections are sautered with heat shrink wrap. One of the goals was to hide as much of the wiring as possible. Also comes w/ OBD2 port.

· MSD plug wires and new plugs

· New power steering box and lines

· Aftermarket low profile oil pan

· New front brake calipers, pads, rotors & pre-bent lines

· New front inner fenders

· Porterbuilt Hood Hinges w/ shocks

· New throttle cable

· Prepped and painted firewall

Chassis/Suspension:

The suspension was also completely removed, bagged and replaced with Early Classic powdercoated suspension products. I’ve used their products for years, and it’s always excellent quality and the components work flawlessly.

· Ridler 695 20” wheels w/ new tires

· Air Ride w/ 4-2600 Dominator bags and dual Vair compressors with paddle valves (Note that the compressors are not plumbed, but come with vehicle…currently on shredder valves) You can complete the air ride system to best suit your needs and preference OR switch back to springs.

· Tubular Front upper & lower A-arms that automatically self adjust vertically as vehicle is raised and lowered. If you choose to not run bags, these A-arms will also accept springs.

· Early Classics KYB shocks & relocators

· Early Classic 2.5 Drop spindles

· Early Classics dropmember and new carrier bearing

· Early Classics Trailing Arms w/ new bushings

· Early Classics adjustable pan hard bar

· CPP 1 ¼” Front sway bar

· CPP C-Notch

· Balanced and rebuilt drive shaft w/ Moog universal joints

· 3.08 rear end was stripped, inspected and painted w/ new grease

· New tie rods and tie rod ends

· Front end alignment

Interior:

The interior of this vehicle has been restored to create a modern, fresh & clean interior w/ better sound dampening than a newer model suburban. After much research, completely gutting the interior and many hours of labor, this ’72 suburban is as quite as you can make one of these vehicles.

· New CPP complete automatic tilt steering column

· Updated steering wheel w/ horn

· Neutral color interior paint

· Leather 3 row electric seatingin excellent shape from an Escalade w/ heated front and mid seats. 3rd row seats can be raised or removed for extra storage.

· Mega Fat Mat sound dampener in floor, roof, doors, sides and inner firewall

· Automotive insulation in floor, roof, doors, sides and inner firewall

· Mass Loaded Vinyl in the floor, roof, doors, sides and inner firewall

· New grey carpet from Brother’s Trucks

· New glove box

· New door & window rubber/seals/scrappers/bumpers and door to cab weather stripping

· New rear weather stripping on the top and bottom hatch

· Rebuilt air controls

· New dash bezel for gauges…ALL gauges work (including Tach w/ new senders), but speedo…I currently use GPS for speedometer.

· New dash pad

· Original painted headliner…you know this vehicle has been taken great care since it has the original headliner in great shape.

· Shock and cable upgrade for rear hatch

· New window & door handles

Exterior:

Note that this vehicle was built from the inside out. I have always had the intention of painting this vehicle, but once I got it on the road, after some patina enhancement and numerous compliments, the color scheme grew on me…it’s unique with character, and I liked the idea of not having to worry about scratching the paint. Whenever I purchased this vehicle, there was limited rust on the lower part of the rear hatch and front left cabbrace. The rust was removed and replaced with metal.

· Body is very straight w/ only a couple of small dings

· All doors open and close great

· All doors and hatch lock and open with key

· All glass is in great shape

· New front & rear bumpers from Brother’s Trucks

· Chassis has been painted and undercarriage sprayed…I was told that this vehicle being a state truck was undercoated from the factory.

· Has the original rockers that are in great shape

· New chrome side mirrors

· New tail and back up lights

· All lights work…even the interior overhead light

I’m sure that I am forgetting some stuff, so I encourage you to ask questions and check out more pics. (including some build and about every square inch of this suburban)at:
