1962 Chevrolet Corvette Description

ICONIC FIRST GENERATION AMERICAN SPORTS CAR - THE “C1”CORVETTE!

1962 Corvette is very "rare" and highly desirable.

Distinctive one color paint, the first year with seat belts. The last year of the full trunk till 2004+

FRIENDS HAVE HAD THE OCCASIONTO

DRIVE BEHIND THIS 1962 CORVETTE

AND NOTICED THE REACTION

OFOTHER DRIVERS.

EVERYONE IS IN AWE OF THIS ICONIC FIRST GENERATION - 1962’S AMERICAN SPORTS CAR, SMILING AND GIVING THE DRIVER SIGNS OF THEIR APPROVAL!

Vehicle Condition:

THIS IS A SOUTHERN DRY CLIMATE CAR! AS SUCH, THERE WERE NEVER ANY WEATHERING ISSUES. THAT IS ONE REASON WHY COLLECTORS ARE WILLING TO PAY HIGH PREMIUMS FOR DRY CLIMATE SOUTHER CARS!

The car was purchased at an estate sale.

The only reason the car is for sale is that I am getting Married!

THIS 1962 CORVETTE IS IN AMAZING CONDITION. THIS VERY ATTRACTIVE VINTAGE AMERICAN SPORTS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES ALMOST DAILY!

She appears to be in good condition. The chrome is in good condition and appears to be straight and true. The entire interior upholstery seems to in excellent condition, less the dash pad that has cracks behind the registration and needs replacement. As you may have noticed, the owner deviated very slightly from exact stock. The Corvette radio has been replaced to a more modern FM style, but could easily be replaced if desired. The tach and clock do not work. No attempt has been made to get them working. The clock has been priced as a rebuild for $100.00. The mirrors need replacement as the chrome is in need of replacement and the new mirrors are included but not installed as of yet. The exterior is nothing less than SEXY! From ten feet she is a ten. The vehicle shows signs of being repainted. The Roman Red paint is in good shape. There are what appear to be a scratch above the gas cap. Some paint cracking by the antenna, I have found to be common with corvettes. There is a chip by the front emblem and two small touch ups within the front emblem. You really need to be close to see it. The convertible top is excellent, having not been used or even up since the car has been in NY. It has only seen excellent weather. It may need some adjustment as it has not been stretched in some time. Some weather stripping needs replacement. The entire exterior is a looker, see the pictures! Everything under the hood looks like new. Finned aluminum valve covers are on the engine because the previous owner liked the look. The engine is not stock but have been told it is of the period. We have priced the correct engine and date code and is available in NJ, at a reasonable price. A new carburetor has been installed. Performance air cleaner and intake manifold. We were told that the engine has had some work to increase performance. Certainly noticeable by the pickup. I have been told while its recent service that it has a slight compression issue in one cylinder. It has not affected the performance to my notice. The car has been driven without any instances. The transmission has just been rebuilt. The car has a competition clutch and scatter shield. It has a Muncie transmission and shift kit. The exhaust is new and has that corvette rumble! The hood release cables are sticky and need to be lubed.

Note that the odometer reading listed above is not the total mileage.

I was told the vehicle has 40k miles. It looks it!

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 1962 CORVETTE, AN EYE CATCHER. YOU CAN’T GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT PEOPLE COMING OVER TO COMPLIMENT YOU ON THE CAR!
