1968 Chevrolet Camaro Description

It's hard to go wrong with a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS, especially when it has been given all the right investments. So with an exceptionally nice coordinated total package and rebuilt big block power, you're looking at desire on wheels. The pristine shine of the recently applied Matador Red will make your heart race, but this Camaro is more about bad attitude than romance. It shows its aggressive side, with a black streak, that starts with the RS grille, runs through the SS stinger stripe, and continues onto the black vinyl roof. Even the center cap on the Weld wheels follows this scheme, and the staggered 14/15-inch front/rear makes the stance quite aggressive. The traditional ducktail out back adds to the SS's attitude, and proper badging remains throughout, including the prized "396" emblems on the front fenders. But before all these features fill you with desire, take some time to look at the fundamentals. Panel fit is quite good overall, and it's nice to see a stock hood with the ice cube tray inserts, simply because their originality draws attention.Step inside, and this is the perfect blend of vintage and new. For example, the black vinyl seats, carpets, and door panels are all correct for 1968, and the front buckets feel factory fresh thanks to new covers. The center console is stock, with a modern removable upgrade...an armrest that includes the always-welcomed cup holders. But just ahead of that is the iconic horseshoe shifter and quad auxiliary gauge package. The stereo could pass for a vintage unit with its bright knob style presentation, but it's really a more modern digital AM/FM tuner with cassette player. The driver gets a three-spoke sports steering wheel with an SS emblem added in the middle. Beyond that are the deep dual pods that emphasize the large speedo and tach. The big block 396 cubic-inch V8 nearly fills every inch under the hood with its factory-rated 325 horsepower. But this was also rebuilt recently for even better looks and performance. One glance at the highly detailed engine bay, and you'll see there was no expense spared in this very important showpiece. It has been beautifully finished with correct Chevy orange paint on the block, a satin black background, and bright chrome on the air cleaner as well as the valve covers. Plus, it has been given a Holley four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and Hedman headers. The result is a total package that fires up like a dream but has a haunting rumble from the dual exhaust. It's an excellent cruiser, too, thanks to features like the stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front. This results in a classic that has an overall aggressive look and sound, but it's quite a nice drive. There are a ton of receipts that come with this coupe to show you the full investment it took to bring this complete package together (including $5K for the paint and nearly $3K for the motor.) All the hard work has been done, so all you have to do is be the first one to grab this Camaro RS/SS. Call today!!
