Cars like this absolutely incredible 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan don't come along very often. Professionally built and one of the most incredibly detailed cars we've ever featured, it is a road map for how to build a spectacular resto-mod. Featuring small block power, all the creature comforts, and stunning bodywork, it's the car that stops traffic everywhere it goesNo doubt it's a '55 Chevy Bel Air, but there's definitely a look to this car that's tough to quantify in a single glance. All the sheetmetal is stock and unaltered, albeit finished to show standards that make it stand out like a beacon among lesser cars. Perhaps it's the paint, a combination of Ford Burgundy Red and gorgeous GM Pewter that gives the traditional two-tone a modern look that's blindingly well-finished. The perfect stance seems to make it look longer and lower than a stocker, but I assure you that the only bodywork this car received was the hundreds of hours spent getting it laser straight. All the original Bel Air trim was restored to show standards and reinstalled, and custom 1-piece bumpers add a super smooth look. In short, cars just can't get much nicer than this. The interior is this car's calling card, a beautifully crafted masterpiece in tan leather and so full of custom tweaks we can't possibly list them all. The front bench should look familiar and they added a custom center console under the dash, a neat touch on a bench seat car. Gorgeous new door panels were installed and the headliner is beautifully stitched to give it a modern look. Everything inside is handsomely color-matched to the burgundy bodywork, including the dash pad and steering column, and there's not a single component that wasn't massaged in some fashion. A/C and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo were installed in that custom center console, meaning that the dash remains clean and uncluttered. Handsome tan carpets provide just the right amount of contrast for it to look impossibly upscale and luxurious, and every single surface is covered in beautiful soft-touch materials. The trunk is also fully upholstered with a side panels that mirror the sectioned headliner inside the car, and all the working parts like the amplifier and battery have been very cleverly stashed out of sight. The mechanicals of the car were as carefully crafted as the spectacular interior and lifting the hood you'll find a sparkling 350 cubic inch V8 that's like industrial sculpture. Everything that's made of aluminum was polished or powdercoated, the inner fenders and firewall were smoothed, and all the plumbing and electrical wires were hidden out of sight. Even things as mundane as hose clamps were carefully studied and made beautiful on this car, and it's all completely functional and ready to enjoy. The custom exhaust system tucks up tight to the chassis for great ground clearance and barks through a set of Flowmaster mufflers that sound great. A TH350 3-speed automatic powers a 10-bolt rear that has also been smoothed and finished. Power front disc brakes, a rebuilt suspension, and gorgeous Boyd Coddington wheels with 245/45/17 performance radials round out a very detailed chassis. The asking price doesn't even come close to covering the cost to build this car, this is a show-stopping trophy machine that is fully sorted and ready to drive.
