1966 Chevrolet Nova LOW MILEAGE RUST FREE
1966 Chevrolet Nova Description
1966 Chevrolet Nova. This is the 607th Nova built (build date September 1965), built in the fourth week of September 1965 in Willow Run Michigan. First sold at Dailey Chevrolet in San Leandro, California in October 1965. It has spent its entire life in California. It is stock and almost completely original. Just over 44,000 original miles. Original owner’s manual and protecto plate and registrations cards. Still has inspection form completed on day of sale and one license plate frame from the original dealer. It is a rare combination of two tone paint and a factory numbers matching 283 V8 and powerglide. It also has the convenience package which included two speed electric wipers with washer, a glove box light and backup lights. (See photograph of trim tag) The body is excellent overall. It has the factory two tone paint scheme with trim similar to that used on a vinyl top. The car has been repainted once in the factory color. Although it was garaged its entire life, the paint on the main part of the body is flat and oxidized. The white top is somewhat glossy. There is a minor dent on the right front fender (see the photographs). There is also some evidence of filler on the deck lid. The floors in this car are far superior to what is generally available. The passenger compartment floors still have the original pain with NO RUST. I believe you simply are not likely to find a more solid car. The trunk floor is also excellent, but some of the Zolotone paint appears to have been touched up prior to my purchase. The trunk still has its original mat. The doors, rocker panels and quarter panels are equally rust free. Although I did not remove the trim, the area under the back window also appears solid. Both bumpers are straight, and still have good shine. The side trim, headlight bezels and the tail light housings have been recently straightened and polished. They are no longer anodized and look almost like chrome. The wiring is still factory original and in excellent condition. There is no evidence of any modification or repair. It has had seat covers since new, but the driver’s seat cover and the original seat are torn. The rear seat still has the seat cover over the original seats. There is no evidence of damage or tearing. The headliner had one torn seam directly above the driver’s head and it was replaced. The door panels and arm rests are excellent. It has all factory glass. The radio was recently repaired and the factory speaker was re-coned. The dash pad is not split or cracked. The dash panel even has the little plug that goes in the hole where the clock would have been. I had the heads removed so that I could have hardened valve seats installed due to unavailability of leaded gas. Although the valve seals were replaced, the car does have a small amount of smoke on startup. Whether you want to restore this car or use it as an excellent platform for building it is an excellent choice. I doubt that there are many original cars of this quality. I bought the car with the intention to build, but my health has changed and I have to sell both my collector cars. I will assist as needed with shipping.
