1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Description

I have a 1 owner 1968 convertible 427 390 horse, turbo 400, original paint and drive train that was barn find. The original owner bought the the car new, she drove it through college (Michigan St.), got married. In 1973 the car blew a head gasket, her husband now, then took the motor out of the car and took it apart, bought a new gasket kit and had the radiator cleaned and recored. Then his wife got pregnant and the rest is history the car has sat since 1973. The car is still in the original owners nam, the car has never been wrecked or any paint work done on it, it's all original, the paint does show wear and cracking as seen in the pictures. The frame has some scaling but very restorable, chrome has some pitting and weatherstripping is dried and cracked. The car does come with both hard and soft tops the soft top could use a new top but frame is in good condition, has seat headrests, am/fm radio and factory alarm. The interior is in good condition, door panels are in good condition, dash and instrument panel and gauges all good condition, steering wheel and passenger seat good condition, the driver seat has some wear and there is a crack on the center counsel back where your elbow wound rest, needs carpet, glass is all good with very minor scratches. I have the original engine and transmission and appears that everything is here, I can't see that anything is missing I even have the transmission lines vacuum lines and the exhaust (not stock mufflers). He must have treated everything with oil as there is no rust on any of the engine components, the crank and cam have never been taken apart, the heads are all together as well, all the parts are marked were they came from, rods and pistons and even the pushrods. The only thing I see that is missing from the car are the trim rings on the wheels, the original spare is still in the car and the tank sticker is still on the tank, I didn't mess with it, there is no more paper work than that she did not hang onto anything. This is a very nice easily restorable car with all the hard parts here or would be a good candidate for a restomod build, there are a lot of options that someone could do with this car. There is no evidence of any rodent damage to this car as well. I also have the blockand cylinder head numbers in photos if you would like to see those. This car is available to inspect almost anytime if you have any questions you can call me at 630-742-8338
