1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Hard Top Sport Coupe Survivor Factory A/C car showing 98,420 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage and will be seen on an upcoming episode of the hit show Fast N’ Loud! Deriving its name from the African antelope, Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model had become the best-selling automobile in the United States. The 1963 Impala featured rectilinear styling with an engine-turned aluminum rear taillight panel surrounded by a chrome border on SS models. The Sport Coupe featured a new, creased roof line and a new coved instrument panel with simple indicator lights for hot and cold engine conditions. Now the 1963 Chevy Impala is the basis for a number of custom rides that have come from many different talented builders over the last few decades but the 2 Door Hard Top Sport Coupe has to be without question the most sought after of all the Impala’s. And this one is no exception having been originally sold at Southwest Chevrolet in Ft. Worth Texas and meticulously maintained throughout the years by a very enthusiastic owner. It still retains the original paint and interior that show very well with a few minor nicks and one small area on the bottom of the passenger front fender that has minor rust perforation showing (see all pics). While this is a very original 1963 Chevy Impala SS V8 car, it isn’t a number matching car as the original engine has been replaced with a Corvette engine and the exhaust system has also been replaced (again, see all pics). Underside pics reveal a very solid chassis with minimal superficial rust present on some components. This car runs and drives well and has been maintained with parts replaced as necessary however, it should be completely service before any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability and due to our filming schedule, we cannot perform any additional work on this car for you.
