1965 Chevrolet C-10 Description

Overview:

Frame:

The frame was cleaned and checked for straightness. It was painted with an epoxy base paint (POR15).

Suspension:

She sits on CCP two-inch drop spindles in the front along with two inch lowering springs. All the front suspension has been replaced with new tie rods, ushings, earings, tc… The rear suspension is stock with all new bushing and four inch lowering springs in the rear along with a CCP pannier bar. Stock non-power steering box. She handles very nice, oes not pull and drives straight. The wheel bolt pattern was changed from 6 bolt to 5X5 bold pattern. The Truck has BRAND NEW 20X10 rear wheels with Falken tires and the Fronts are 18X8.

Brakes

Complete disk brake system at all four corners. New master cylinder, isks, ads and components.

Drive Train

The 350 cu in engine was completely rebuilt with new everything. It has a light cam for a little lop, long with headers, 4 inch Cherry bombs. She has 194 heads with stronger valve springs. Holly intake manifold along with a 650cfm Holly carburetor. Single wire distributor. The motor runs excellent and is very loud when you jump on it. Mated to the 350cu in is the SM460 4 speed rock crusher transmission turning the two-piece drive shaft with new bearings and u joints. The drive shaft is attached to a GM/Pontiac 11 bold Posi rear end. (The only tag it had on the rear end said it was a “Safety Lock” and I’m not sure what that is). Also it has a new aluminum radiator with an electric fan and she stays a constant 165 degrees all day long. The floor was modified for the emergency brake.

Wiring

All wiring was replaced and presents itself well. No loose wires, o shorts and everything works as it should, eater (new blower motor and heater core), ioneer CD Player, nterior lights, ash lights, urn signals, eadlights, lternator Gauge and Gas gauge. The LED Brake lights work perfect. The temperature gauge is a thermocouple from the intake. (sorry, never hooked up the cigarette lighter, o smoking).

Body

All rusted areas were replaced with new metal. Lower rear areas of the front fenders and a cab corner/ rock rail on the passenger side. Bodywork completed and a single stage polyurethane was painted inside the cab and outside. From 1 to 10, would say it’s a 7. Great for a daily driver and shows. All new rubber throughout the cab was replaced including the lower floor vents, ind wings, nd window felt. New door handles and inner door handles were replaced. Also the fuel system has been moved to the back along with its electric fuel pump. Works perfect. The wood bed has been replaced with oak. Its Beautiful!!!

Overall it’s a nice truck to drive anywhere, he gear ratios seem to be perfect. I use second and third around town, nd fourth makes this a freeway flyer. I get lots of looks and plenty of people come by to check her out.Use first gear (Granny Gear)to pull stumps from the ground.

Please review all of the pictures, f you have any questions or would like to see pictures of the restoration, ust send me an email. It has a clean Utah Title and I drive her often.

The Bad.

Not everything is perfect and I just can’t afford any more time or money. So I want disclose everything: First; although the 350 has been completely rebuilt with new parts, am having a problem with low oil pressure at idle (5-10 psi). Comes right back at the touch of the throttle, 55 psi) but I cant find why it drops at idel Also with four disk brakes it should stop on a dime, t doesn’t. It feels a little sluggish, aybe air in the lines? It stops, just think it should be better. I wish the body and paint were better, gain to me it’s a 7, nd maybe a little polish would help. AND THAT’S IT….She still a GREAT TRUCK, ery solid and tight. Again email me if you have questions,
