1953 Chevy 3800 Pickup
1953 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description
1953 Chevy 3800 one ton flatbed truck. Have the original 216, which was replaced with a 1957 235 Chevy engine and gotten almost every other system other than the hydraulic hoist replaced or refreshed. The truck has the original 18 inch lock ring rims on it (not split rims) though tire shops often confuse the two. the tires are around 5 years old and have about half their tread life still in them.
The 235 engine is out out of a Belair with roughly 65,000 miles on it. The the rods and main bearings replaced around 2000 miles back. The engine runs great and and has been well taken care of! This truck is a one ton chassis and suspension so goes over the bumps a little roughly unless you are loaded. I have all of the hydraulic hoist parts for the bed but the pump valve is stuck so it was removed along with the pto and all of the hydraulic parts. Has very minor rust, lower part of cab corners and a small spot on passenger fender behind wheel. All glass in very good condition, windows roll up and down, no rust on floorboard at all.
The bed paint was originally red but it was painted the same blue as the body. you can see that in some of the pictures above. I have numerous manuals, spare parts and a spare tire/rim that are also included. The truck was worked on and maintained extremely well by the previous owner and is a daily driver that can be used to work rather than sit. It has hauled tractors, sand, lumber, hay, tools and more as a usable truck. There have been some restoration grade parts used from places like LMC, Bowtie Bits, Classic Truck parts(riverside, mo) Chevs of the 40's, etc because I wanted to keep it as authentic and original as possible.
The following have been fixed or replaced:
Tires, tubes and flaps
Engine
battery
wiring harness (still a 6v system all around)
Generator
starter
voltage regulator
headlight switch
90% of the instruments - I have the original speedo for the original odometer statement.
control cables
rebuilt the carb multiple times
fuel pump
all glass and 90 of the seals
the seat was rebuilt and recovered professionally
the left door mechanism
tie rods and joints
all lights
heater core was fix and does not leak
hoses
chassis paint and bed paint - the body was originally navy blue but was repainted by the second owner a ford tractor blue. the paint is fair at best.
bed wood
Front steering rods and joints.
front suspension shackles
headliner and door panels

Have the proper 1953 "3800" hood badges that will go with the truck. the previous owner installed incorrect "3100" badges when he had the ford blue put on. The 3100 badges are all the restoration houses sell.
I have the title free and clear in the state of Kansas. Deposit of $500.00 due w/in 24 hours of sale, cash or cashiers check from a verifiable financial institution.
Great truck to keep as is or an easy total restoration. Contact me with any questions!
