1978 Chevrolet Malibu Base Coupe 2-Door Description

I have owned this car since 1983 (second owner) and have taken excellent care of it. Threw away the original V6 and dropped in a 1977 350 built with:
  • Flat-top pistons (9.5:1)
  • Edelbrock Performer Cam, Lifters, Pushrods, & Manifold
  • Summit Aluminum Roller Rockers
  • Holley 650 DP carb
  • Electric Radiator Fan
  • Griffin Dominator Aluminum Radiator
  • Mallory Unilite Distributor w/Promaster Coil & Sidewinder Wires
  • Hooker Competition Headers (1.75") Jet-Hot coated and polished inside & out
  • Pypes 2.5" Race Pro Stainless Dual Exhaust System & Mufflers
  • Pypes 2.5" Polished Stainless Catalytic Converters with heated O2 sensors
  • Factory A/C with new Sanden Compressor (715) and Vintage Air SuperFlow Condenser
  • March Performance Serpentine Belt System
  • Chrome Powermaster 140A Alternator
The transmission is a 70s TH-350 that has been completely overhauled and beefed-up with heavy-duty internal components along with a B&M shift kit.
The interior has been changed from the original bench seating to bucket seats & center console from a 1980 Buick Regal. I had custom medium blue vinyl & cloth upholstery made to match the OEM style for 1978. The car has a full-instrument dash with the PI 120 MPH speedo. Intermittent wipers. Mounted in place of the stock center console shifter is a B&M MegaShifter. The console "flip up" door was removed (it is included) and a panel added with an vacuum and air/fuel ration gauge, handy for tweaking the carb tuning. The dash has been covered with a Dash Cap and all interior pieces have been repainted the OEM medium blue. 3M ColorStable window tint on all windows.
The rear end is stock (2.73 10-bolt). Suspension has been upgraded with heavy-duty tall springs, matched GT shocks, Rancho Challenger anti-sway bars, and Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings & mounts. The wheels are Keystone Klassic 15" with Goodrich TA 275 rear and 225 front tires. Front tires are new this fall, rear tires are three years old.
Body has minor scratches & dings, nothing major. Car has been repainted but is still the OEM color.
Don't want to let this daily driver go but it's time to move on. I am very motivated to sell it so if you're interested, take a look at it make an offer.
