1970 Chevrolet Corvette 2-door convertible Description

This is a 1970 Corvette Convertible 4-speed project, Excellent project that has a perfect solid frame with no issues Real NICE, Body is just as nice with no damage, does not look like it has ever been hit very clean frame and body, Paint is driver type paint, looks good from 20 feet, has some chips, small paint cracks, some small areas were paint has peeled or blistered.Convertible top needs new covering, nice chrome, has a new gas tank installed, brakes are currently not working, The upper part of the windshield frame has some rust issues, I was going to get a new windshield frame for it,the rest of the birdcage is excellent so its an easy repair Another one of my projects I dont have time to get to.The seats have been restored and are very nice, have brand new door panels also for it.This car has been issued a state of Maine assigned vin #, not sure why, there was remnants of the vin tag still there but was corroded, original rivets are still present. No problem to register this way, have a copy of last owners registration, Now that being said, I looked on the frame and found the hidden stamped vin #they are stamped lightly but can still make out most of them that matches the engine and transmission, so you can get a new vin tag made for it, you just have to have state police verify the #s,I had the state police run the #s and there was no problems, so all I can think was the original vin tag corroded or was lost?? the trim tag is present and has a paint code of 975= Marlboro Maroon Metalic and a trim code of 418 Saddle. So the engine is original to this car, its a 350-300HP and runs good, has a stamped engine code CTD = 300 HP 4-speed,the Muncie 4-speed transmission would also be original to this car and has the vin also stamped in it.This would be an excellent project, such a nice body and frame and wont take much to get back on the road. Maine does not require Titles on autos 15 years and older so there is NO TITLE, will come with a bill of Sale only.
