This is a beautiful restored 1969 Nova SS. It's an absolutely fantastic muscle car to drive. The car has brand new front suspension, new rear suspension, new power steering, new body bushings, new front disk brakes and new rear drum brakes. The engine is a rebuilt Vortec 350 with rough idle cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley carburetor and Headman hedders. Beautiful American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich Radial TA tires. Also new Griffin radiator, hoses, new gas tank and sending unit. All gauges work fine. Clear AR title in seller's name. The transmission is manufactured by Auto Gear, in my opinion, even better than the GM Muncie. Google Autogear for website details.
I believe this is a “real” SS and I have the build sheet and the body number on the build sheet matches the cowl tag. From what's left of the build sheet (poor condition), here is what I've decoded:
Please view the build sheet image and feel free to decode for yourself.
This Nova meets the following requirements for a “real” SS
Other Clues why I believe this is a "Real" Nova SS
Again, I urge you to do your own research and decide for yourself. Just like the 1969 Chevelle, Chevrolet did not use a specific VIN code for the SS models in 1969.
Non-Original Upgrades and Changes
· The engine was replaced with a high performance Chevy Vortec 350
· The transmission was replaced with a high performance Auto Gear 4-Speed
· The rear end was replaced with a Currie 9” Posi Track rear end
· I replaced the original radiator with a new Griffin Aluminum Radiator
· I replace the original gas tank with a new gas tank and sending unit
· According to 1995 pre-restored registration, this car was originally blue.
o No sign of blue on any body parts or over spray
o Professionally changed to red during body-off restoration
· I believe the original interior was blue
o Changed to black during restoration
· Original radio replaced with an after-market stereo
