The first-generation Corvette was introduced with much fanfare at the '52 Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. It was an instant hit with the potential buying public. So much so, that the powers that be at GM decided to bring it out the following model year as a '53! The car was and is beautiful, but powerful, it wasn't. But by '55 (the end of the first design run) Corvette got a V8 and positive change was on the horizon! The C1 was built from '53-'62 and during that time there were no less than 4 body revisions! All of them beautifully done. But, most Corvette aficionados would acknowledge that the most popular C1'S were the '58-'60. These were wider and longer than the previous years, thus easier to fit in. From the grille teeth to the side coves to the beautiful, rounded back end, the designers seemed to get everything right! Because of that, the '58-'60 is the most sought-after of the C1's.
The beautiful '60 presented here perfectly exemplifies the spirit of the first-generation Corvette! From its sparkling Roman Red exterior with contrasting Whitecoves, matching Red interior to the powerful 290hp fuel injected V-8, this '60 is everything a fan of this era Corvette could ever want! The car has been meticulously frame off restored and is a N.C.R.S. Top Flight award winner! It's also a fantastic driver! Optioned with the 283/290hp F.I. engine, 4-spd manual transmission, Wonderbar radio and very rare (1 of 544) power windows.
