1955 Chevy 2DR Custom Build W/Hemi
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 2dr Description
1955 Chevy Custom
Up for sale is a 1955 Chevy 2DR post. This car is unlike any other '55 Chevy out there. It is an older, Old School style build that was built so the previous owner could just have a lot of fun with it. It started out as 1955 Chevy 2dr post, and has since seen several changes that make it a 'one of a kind'. This car may not appeal to a lot of people due to it not having GM running gear, however; I'm sure some people will find the uniqueness of this car and want to own it just to have some fun.
Exterior
The paint is a dark purple with pearl and pearl white with ghost flames on front cap.All of the handles have been shaved on the car and it has electric door poppers for both doors. I just put a new battery in the door popper remote and it will not open the doors. So I'm thinking it may have to be re-programmed. I will be working on trying to get that taken care of.
The roof of this car is from a 1957 Buick. It has been chopped 3 inches and the 'B' pillars have been tilted. A third brake light has been frenched into the rear roof, along with dual antennas frenched into the passenger quarter panel. It has a full tilt front end that is opened and closed by two electric actuators. The headlights have been frenched as well.
The trunk latch consists of a bolt that takes a wing nut under the car to hold down the trunk lid. The gas door has been shaved and the gas tank is now an aluminum fuel cell mounted in the trunk. It has a chrome rear bumper, and a fiberglass pin-on front bumper. Also has Buick taillight lenses. The only glass that is broke is the passenger side vent window. It is cracked. All other glass is in good shape. The car is straight and solid with no rust or dents. It does have a few small chips in the paint and a light scratch or two here and there.
Wheels/Tires
Rear wheels are Weld Racing aluminum wheels with 29x15.50-15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro tires. The fronts are Weld Racing aluminum wheels with 26x7.50-15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires.
Engine/Compartment/Transmission
The engine is a 500 HP Supercharged 392 Hemi backed by a 727 push button automatic transmission. The transmission and engine both have their own oil cooler. Engine has dual oil filters. It has two Holley double pumper carburetors. I'm not sure on what size they are. I'd assume 750s though. Also not sure of the brand of the supercharger as we bought the car as you see it.
It has cerami-coted headers, Power steering, A/C, and is equipped with an electric cut out for the exhaust. There is no A/C condenser on the car, so it will need one. It has an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
It has a custom aluminum diamond plate firewall with a 6 inch recess.
The engine runs good and strong and the transmission shifts great.
Undercarriage
The car has four wheel power disc brakes. Heidts upper tubular control arms. The frame has been boxed in and the 9 inch ford rear end has been re-enforced as well. Has chrome traction bars. 3 inch stainless exhaust all the way back. No rust underneath the car.
Interior
The interior is fully custom as well. It has Power windows, locks, and seats. The seats slide front to back and tilt. The upholstery is black vinyl diamond tuck with 4 bucket seats and a full length console that houses the push button controls for the transmission. Has Simpson 3 point racing seat belts. Later model GM tilt column. Dakota Digital dash and clock on passenger dash. Kenwood CD player with aViper 1100W amp powering 2 - 6x9s, 2 - 5" door speakers and an Atlas Hifonics square subwoofer. The headliner is equipped with an array of lights from some sort of Cadillac.
The car runs and drives good. It is located in Shirley Ar and comes with a clear Missouri title. With so many features on this car, I am bound to be leaving something out. Therefore, please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the car. Thanks for looking!
