1966 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description
This 1966 Chevy C-60 Fire Truck is truly an amazing find. It was a one owner until our recent purchase in late 2016. It comes from the small town of Kanopolis Kansas, where it was purchased new
by the City of Kanopolis on February 24th, 1966. The truck was then equipped by American Fire Apparatus CO. in Marshalltown, Iowa and put into service by the Kanopolis Fire Department on
August 22nd, 1966. As you will see in the photos the truck still has the original owner's guide, the 1966 Chevy Truck owner protection plan booklet, the original options portion of the window sticker,
receipts and some service records. We also have a copy of the original 1966 title! The truck is now a clear Texas title, in my name, ready for transfer.
Again, with the extreme low mileage on the 66 C-60, it is like stepping back in time when you open the cab door. With Kanopolis being a small town of under 500 population, the truck spent more time
in parades than putting out fires. So along with the extremely low mileage, the PTO pump has very little use as well. The High Torque 292 runs amazing. We have done nothing as far as cleaning, scrubbing,
or wiping away any surfaces, as can be seen in all photos. The truck is exactly as it was when it left the fire station where it has been kept indoors for the past 50 years. The interior of the truck as well is
in awesome condition as seen in all photos. The body has absolutely not a single ding or dent. All glass is perfect. There is no rust. The only 'slight' surface rust is seen in the rear compartment photos. We
chose to leave exactly as it was, but could be easily scuffed and painted.
All equipment is fully functional! This truck has so many possibilities. In it's condition & mileage, it's like stepping back in time. Looks beautiful, runs amazing. And while of course the first desire would be to
get it into the hand of a collector, we have also seen rigs like this turned into awesome haul rigs & ramp trucks. (We even included a couple of photos for example.)And no worries on the 292 engine, it has power
for days! This thing could honestly pull down a house! We have posted photos trying to show a little of everything on the truck. There are no 'bad' areas so to speak. If you desire any further photos or info, just
message us and we will immediately respond to your request. While we have not sold many vehicles through ebay, the ones we have all have great feedback & we want to keep it that way. Of course it's going to
be easy on this amazing machine! We have kept the reserve very low for a truck in this condition & would love to see it go to someone that will enjoy it. This thing is so clean it could actually be in a museum!
The Lil Red Truck is the perfect size for the private collector or possibly a fire department desiring to put it in service. It is just 23' long. For shipping reference it is 7' 11" wide & 7' 6" tall. The truck weighs just 10,300
with it's water tank empty. We will be glad to assist in arranging shipping if desired. A deposit of $250 will be required within 24 hours of end of auction. Good luck & good bidding!
