1971 Chevrolet Corvette T-Top Coupe Description

Beautiful and mostly original 1971 Corvette Stingray Coupe #’s matching LS5 with <85K original miles. This car’s history has been a CA/AZ car with only 3 owners. Original 454 365HP BB, rebuilt with less than 2,500 miles on it and it has the TH400 Transmission. Original Quadra-Jet Carb was also rebuilt and the A/C was converted to R134 and blows cold. Factory installed options on the T-top Coupe include: Factory A/C, PS, PB, audio security alarm (in a 71 car!), 3-pt harness seat belts, removable rear window and rear luggage rack.

Seller is the 3rd owner located in Phoenix, AZ who purchased the car in Aug 2015 from the 2nd owner located in Tucson, AZ who had the car for 12 years. Original owner located in Sacramento, CA had the car for 32 years. This Corvette has been driven tenderly and received great car through its entire life as evidence by the overall condition and cleanliness of the car. The car has no rust and Yellow exterior paint was refreshed by the original owner and is still in nice condition. The Fiberglass body is straight and all panel seams are even. All chrome and emblems are in great shape. No accidents in its history. The black interior is all original and in great shape for being as old as the car is. The floor carpet is a little faded and the seat foam should be replaced, but overall you can tell by the seat covers that this car has been taken care of. All gauges including the fiber optics console lights including the dash clock all work. Original owner had changed out the radio to a later model corvette radio/cassette player, but I also have the original radio that was in the car. Seller has a binder full of receipts, a 2014 47 pg. professional appraisal and the original dealer invoice.

When I purchased the car, I drove it from Tucson to Phoenix, so it was obviously drivable. Since this car had sat a lot in its history, I wanted to be able to drive it and enjoy it, so recent work completed to improve the drivability includes: Tune-up (Plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor, Pertronix kit & Coil installed to get rid of the points but still retains the stock look, timing & advance set), new PCV Valve, oil changed, new alum radiator & fan shroud, new alum wtr pump installed, all new belts & hoses, new HD Fan clutch, new battery, new starter, vacuum actuators for both headlights and wiper door are new. The steering column has been completely rebuilt, gas tank was dropped, flushed, new sending unit and gaskets and lines installed, new orig style fuel cap. Transmission torque converter cover was missing, new one installed. Complete new duel exhaust system with X-pipe and 40 series flowmasters. LS6 open air cleaner installed, but have the orig duel snorkel (ugly) LS5 closed system. Receipts for above work as well as previous owners work done are all in a binder that will go with the car. This car is very clean and detailed under the hood and throughout, you can tell a lot about a car by looking under the hood. This car has always been garaged kept and never driven in inclement weather as evidence by its overall interior & exterior condition.

This car runs and drives well, steering tracks straight and no pulling towards either side. Engine temp runs cool and the A/C blows cool. Brakes work well and tires are still in almost new condition. I start and drive the car religiously at least once a week. The only things that are not in working condition are: Windshield washer motor from non-use (Car never driven in rain), Heater core is disconnected, have the new one, just haven’t had it installed yet (heater not a priority in AZ), driver side pwr window quit on me a few months ago (is in the up position) and lastly the cigarette lighter is disconnected (have the new components) being a non-smoker not a priority. I have numerous new small parts on hand that I have accumulated, just haven’t gotten around to getting installed yet, they will all go with the car at sale.

Clear title in hand. Car is being sold used “as-is” with no implied warranty. Car was appraised for 38K in Feb 2014 by Tucson Auto appraisers, 47pg report is available upon request. The appraisal number is padded a bit to me, what I am looking for is more in line with what the real market value is currently. Independent inspections welcomed and encouraged. Seller welcomes questions from serious prospective bidders, can message me any questions or for my cell number.

The successful winning bidder must contact the seller within 24hrs after the auction ends to verify the purchase and make arrangements for the transaction. NON-REFUNDABLE $1,000 Deposit through PayPal required within 24hrs of winning bid, otherwise seller reserves the right to cancel transaction and relist the vehicle for sale. Final payment must be received by the seller within 7 days of the end of the auction. Final payment must be through and approved bank wire transfer or cashier’s check, NOT PayPal. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipment of the vehicle within two weeks of purchase, seller will gladly cooperate with any shipping company arrangements.
