1970 Chevrolet Chevelle BASE Description

1970 CHEVY CHEVELLE

ORIGINAL V/8 & RALLY WHEELS!

FACTORY MISTY BLUE! GOOD DRIVER!

EXCELLENT RESTORATION PROJECT!

1970 was a good year for the Chevy brand! Although a litany of muscle cars were released many argue that the 1970 Chevelle was the greatest vehicle manufactured across the board.

Up for sale is a perfect little driver that can easily be restored to your taste! It is being listed for immediate purchase so feel free to call

(314) 497-9470 to discuss how to make it happen now! This limited owner car spent a great deal of time in Demoines Iowa and came to rest in 1986 (I actually still have the license plate from the year it was parked).

The original owner purchased the car from Deery Brothers Chevrolet in Pleasant Hill, IA.

It was donned in a beautiful shade of blue believed to be coined Misty Turquoise it was his pride and joy! As you can see by the pictures time has taken its toll on this Chevy but it wouldn’t be hard to bring her back to life.

Although I am no body man from my perspective the body panels aren’t in bad shape. It looks as if someone invoked upon an amateur job to replace or repair the quarter panels at one point.

The quality of the work is subject to the individual judging the car.

The door panels seem to be in good condition and so do the fenders. Again the appearance of the panels may work well for some (I prefer to err on the side of caution).

The front bumper has some of the chrome flaking off on the edge on one side. The rear bumper looks to be in great shape!

The hood is damage free and the trunk looks good also! I believe the vehicle had a vinyl top at one point and there is evidence that the indentations to support the attachments for the top have been covered up.

All of the glass in the car is functional and present. There is a small crack at the very end on the edge close to the cowl panel (barely noticeable but always worth mentioning).

All and all this classic Chevelle looks great cruising down the road but I think it would be a fantastic car to restore! It will be for sale locally so again the serious buyer is encouraged to call before the next guy snatches it up!

Now that we have talked about the exterior lets discuss what she has to offer inside.

This Chevelle came equipped with beautiful medium blue seat upholstery front & rear!

There are still traces and tethers of the factory vinyl! The seats still retract as they should and the seat track moves forward easily.

The carpet or what was carpet was removed because of damage. The door panels have also seen better days and there are only remnants of the original material remaining there also.

The head liner is in the same boat as the rest (worn) and the packing tray is all but finished.

The inner quarter upholstery is actually in pretty good shape and could easily be used in your restoration.

The dash pad is usable but also worn.

This is a column shift car. The steering wheel has cracks. There is some good news regarding the interior ….. the horn still works and amazingly so does the door buzzer!

The dome light still shines bright as well!

To me the best way to go would be buying a complete interior kit which is relatively inexpensive (which does the entire interior)!

Whether you change the color or go back to the original it will be fun creating your own car to your taste!

Now to one of my favorite items regarding this vintage Chevy! The factory V/8 tucked under the hood of this Chevelle runs STRONG!

It has never been rebuilt but was well maintained by the first and second owners so she still has a lot of life left in her!

The 307 small block has only been driven a tender 131k miles. When the car was put back on the road a short time ago a fresh set of plugs was installed along with new wires. Various other routine maintenance & service applications were performed and it was unleashed from the garage!

LET’S FIRE HER UP!

The motor has great compression & plenty of torque! Whether you decide to stick with the original and drive it for some time or totally restore it and slam a 454 inside to increase the value of the car extremely (it’s up to you)!

Nonetheless I believe it will be a great car to add to your collection or begin a father son project!

The transmission is believed to be a two speed power glide (shifts smooth).

Finally the car looks to be solid underneath!

The chassis sits on a factory set of Rally mag wheels with a set of dated performance tires.

NOW PLEASE UNDERSTAND: THE CAR IS BEING LISTED AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTY IMPLIED! ALL INSPECTIONS ARE WELCOME BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS IF IT RUNS THE FULL COURSE….. THE CAR IS PRICED TO SALE FAST! I AM WILLING TO WORK WITH THE SERIOUS BUYER TO COMPLETE A TRANSACTION UPON AGREEMENT!

THERE IS A NON REFUNDABLE $1000 DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION (NO EXCUSES)!
