1981 Chevy C10 "Politically Incorrect" 5.3L LSX patina shop truck
1981 Chevrolet C-10 Description
Well if you have made it this far this truck has sparked your interest in one of two ways. You are either a proud patriot that loves freedom, guns, and southern beliefs, or you're an easily offended mother's basement dwelling snowflake with a man bun that’s never heard of David Allen Coe. If by chance you are the later spend a few days looking for your man card and some sort of common sense, then get back to us. If you’re the hard working American that sports a beard, enjoys cranking some Waylon, drinking beer, looking at titts, and loud American made chevy's but you lack a badass ride that screams MERICA' this is it. I'm sure if Colonel Sanders were still alive he would have wet dreams of this custom 1981 chevy c10 powered by a fuel injected fire breathing 5.3l from a 2004 tahoe supported by an msd fuel pump capable of enough fuel for 600 horses. This engine has been gone through with fresh seals and detailed out in…… yep you guessed it RED WHITE AND BLUE bitch. Now behind this beautiful engine that would make a nun yell f**k yeah is a stout th350 with a torque inducing 2800-3200 stall converter cable of letting you get those rpms up before launching and releasing all hell through the gm 12 bolt sporting neck snapping 3.73 gears on a spool. Now if you don’t know what spool is it locks both rear wheels together making damn sure they both spin or hook at the same speed. The only down side with a spool is when making slow turns trucks hops not bad kinda like a southern bell all jacked up on Boones Farm attempting to twerk, but put her straight down and she goes all the way without hesitation. Now that you have made it through the drive train I probably have you foaming at the mouth like a kid at fat camp dreaming of cupcake's, like an infomercial " but wait……..there's more, like the custom anodized blue painted 5 star wheels with bfg's up front and Nitto 555r traction grabbing drag radials in the rear. When it comes to stance this truck nails it with the complete belltech 5/6 lowering kit. When it comes to interior we stripped her down to fix the rusted flintstonefloors, thenlaid down some sound deadening dynomat under new carpet. We reupholstered the bench seat with marine grade covering and piping for a stylish look that’s easy to clean the wet spots off of. When it comes to gauges we wanted something a little different going with the custom panel and gauges in the dash covered by a painted dash cover. If you’re a true american there is a custom hydrodipped dixie style colt 1911 holester on each door to keep your peacemaker. The headliner well just look at. As far as exterior custom patina paint job with an easy to clean satin clear coat. This complete package has been gone through from front to back. We also drove this around making sure she performed as well as it looks. It is loud with the super 10 flowmasters and 3" exhaust. Also this truck would not be complete without the Duke's of Hazzard air horn. Like any smokin hot chick she has some flaws. Cab corners and bedsides behind tires have some rust spots. The left turn signal indicator operates sometimes, and the speedometer bounces with a clicking noise. Rattle noise in video is from the bucket we had the camera sitting on. Just keep in mind we are mechanics not movie producers.
