Talk about an absolutely gorgeous car in immaculate condition! Call Reid now for more info: 435-773-1985. This station wagon is a time capsule that has been preserved in the year 1989. It is very likely that this is the exact replica of the car that Clark Griswold ordered on National Lampoons Vacation. He distinctly ordered the, “Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with the CB and the optional Rally Funpack!” Unfortunately, this car does not have a CB but I’ll bet it has all the same features of the Rally Funpack! Thank goodness this car isn’t the “Metallic Peat” color.
We obtained this car from the son of the original owners who said that his parentsbought it brand new in 1989. They owned it until his father passed away approximately 18 months ago. Every indication is that it has been garaged since it was new. The paint is a solid 9 out of 10, the engine runs perfectly, the tires are excellent, and the interior is nearly perfect! It is the perfect car for taking that spring/summer road trip up the coast or headed to Disneyland or Wally World! I have had several friends tell me that they went to Disneyland in this exact car when they were younger! I can't believe how many looks I get driving this down the road. This thing rides like a Cadillac! Someone is going to be getting a real classic!
Nearly everyone I have showed it to who grew up in that era tells me that they had this same car and that they took it on a trip to Disneyland when they were little! This is a memory making machine! It is 28 years old and I honestly can’t believe how clean it is! This thing has been babied from day one!
This would be a great car for using for a boutique business or hauling stuff around. The third row, rear facing seat folds down and provides plenty of room for hauling gear or making deliveries! I wish I owned a little shop or a boutique hotel where I needed a roomy spacious car with a Cadillac like ride for transporting guests! Everywhere I go in this car people stop and stare. Can’t get gas at the gas station without someone stopping to talk to me about it!
The previous owner just had this car get a safety inspection and emissions and it passed everything! Utah is very stringent on its safety and emissions so this should be good anywhere in the country!I have personally washed and dried this car by hand and can find no evidence of paint work. I believe that this is the original paint job!! There is no fading on the paint or the wood grain. The hood is showing very very minor oxidation but it honestly took very special lighting for me to even notice it. The original wood sided stickers have a couple of spots that have cracked out with age but the rest of the stickers remain intact. Probably the most amazingthing about this car is that it has no rust that I have been able to find anywhere on the body! It is just a stunning car to look at and drive!
Previous owner just put 4 brand new tires on the car, replaced the exhaust, and put a new alternator on it. The car was tuned up with new spark plugs within the last few years. Since the tune up it has had less than 500 miles. The velour interior is flawless and has no marks or tears anywhere. AC Delco radio works perfectly! This car has power windows, power locks, cruise control, power seats, power rear window, and more. As near as I have been able to tell, everything I mentioned above is in perfect working order. Windshield looks good with no cracks or chips. Roof rack is intact and in excellent shape. It would be perfect for hauling surf boards or camping gear on a cross country road trip!
The engine is a 5.0 liter motor with plenty of power to get up the road and the ability to get close to 20 mpg on the highway. It starts right up with no trouble. I have seen no evidence of it smoking or burning oil. It has a smooth idle with no engine vibration. My friend commented that it idles so smoothly he can’t believe it!
There is a small speedo cable noise when out on the open road. A/C needs to be recharged. Missing the screw that holds the handle on the inside of the back door but the handle is included with the purchase. Noticed very very minor oxidation on the hood today. I think a buff would make it absolutely perfect. I did not detail this car because I want the prospective buyers to see it exactly how I got it. Engine has some evidence of oil seepage but I haven't seen any oil on the driveway so it is very minor. My 2000 Suburban has 113,000 miles and people rave about how low that mileage is. This car is 28 years old and looks amazing! My highschooler is begging me to keep it but I told him we are going to Get It Sold!! Call Reid with questions: 435-773-1985
