1967 Chevrolet El Camino Malibu Trim Big Block
1967 Chevrolet El Camino Malibu Description
Up for your bidding pleasure is a 1967 El Camino barn find. This El Camino was just pulled from its barn 3 weeks ago to see its first daylight in 35 years, it has been off the road since 1982. Its a well optioned car with the 136 Malibu V8 option and that V8 is the L34 350hp 396ci, th400 automatic, 12 bolt 3:07 open rear-endunfortunately not a posi, air conditioning, factory tachometer, power steering, and last but for sure not least power disc brakes with the 4 piston calipers J52 option. The car was originallyBolero Red with a Black bench seat interior. Its had one repaint to the Burgundy that is its current color. Obviously this car is a project but I really think Its worth someones time and effort to bring this one back to life. The matching numbers 396 block comes with the car, its missing the heads, intake, pan and most all the accessory drive components but the power steering pump and lower bracket are still in the car. There is a th400 that comes with the car but I'm not claiming matching numbers for it being I can not find any stamped numbers on the case that can prove it. I've cleaned off way more of the grim then I was planning on and for the life of me cant find anything. There is however the tag riveted to the trans case that has the era correct codes that tell me if its not the born with trans it could easily been a factory replacement under warranty. I'll let you be the judge on that one. On to the body, over all the car is in really good condition very straight and the doors shut like its the first day. But with any car that's 50 years old and has been sitting for 35 of those, there are going to be some issues. Ive tried to take the best pictures I could of the rust. the driver side floor pan has rust up where your feet would be, behind the seat area and in the rear section that would be the back seat foot well. There is a little rust through above the windshield on the outside and some rust that has started at the bottom middle of the rear glass. Amazingly the tray below the rear glass and the back of the cab are in really good shape. The small panel with the rubber vent that's behind the driver has rusted through also. The bed floor is in really good condition as well as the tailgate. As for the tailgate not being attached, the passenger side lower hinge is broken. There is a small dent above the passenger side tail light, I have a feeling this happened when it was being pulled out of the barn. The front fenders have the factory rust at the bottoms behind the tires, both doors have small areas that have bubbled through, passenger door jam at the front where it starts to curve up has a small open spot and there are a couple open spots in the driver rear quarter down low behind the tire. I've tried to give the the best description I can, hopefully the pictures show you what you need to see to help further your decision to bid. If you have questions please ask them I well do the best I can to give you an answer. If you would like to talk over the phone call me at 805-835-3679. The car is out of the California DMV system so when you go to register it in California they will want you to have the VIN verified by the CHP ans most likely have a brake and light inspection done. I have the signed pink from the previousowner along with a signed bill of sale from the previous owner, I figured the more you have when you go to the DMV the smoother it will go.As for shipping that is you the buyers responsibility, but if your within a reasonable distance of Paso Robles Ca 93446 I may be willing to deliver the car for an extra fee, that's something we can talk about on the phone.Upon sale of the car I would like to see a $500 non-refundabledeposit within 48 hours of the auctions end. Final payment will be figured out from there. Thanks for checking it out and bid often and bid high.
