1979 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z-28 SPORT COUPE GOOD RESTORABLE CAR
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 Description
This auction is for a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 sport coupe. It has the matching numbers 350 V-8 4bbl, manifolds switched out for headers with true dual exhaust. Has automatic transmission. (Automatic transmission was recently rebuilt). Ps,power front disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, air conditioning (missing some lines), Deep tinted glass, and an after market pioneer am-fm cassette, All lights and electricals work with the exception of the factory tach. I beleive it had a cut wire that needs to be adressed. The cowl tag decodes that this is a white car with carmine red vinyl interior. This originally was a Florida car that was brought to Maine aprox 12 years ago. It was stored in a barn with intentions of doing a full restoration. The owners health has deteriorated since then so we are selling the car for him. The body on the car is in fairly decent shape for the year. It does have some issues such as lousy paint (touched up with a spray can in various spots), a rust spot on the bottom of both front fenders and a small rust spot just behind the passenger door very low on the rear quarter. These three areas are very fixable. The very rear valance behind the gas tank has some rust and a crude repair on the end. This panel is availible in most catalogs. There is also some bubbling on the windshield pillar post drivers side and a small rust hole on the dash corner in the same area. Car appears to have all its original body panels, no cut quarters or anything like that. Trunk pan is all intact. Underside of the car is in real decent shape. Nice frame rails. Good solid frame pockets and perches where the springs attach. 98% of the floor pan looks good and solid. I did see one small repair on the floor edge, traingular shaped by the floor brace and a small rust hole starting on the passenger floor by the brake line. Sorry to be so in depth but want you to know what you are getting. Interior in the car is in fair shape as you can see by the pics. I drove the car home about an hour away and it drove decent. Motor ran great, transmission shifted fine. A little rattley over the bumps but it is a camaro. It has a new master brake cylinder, a couple of replaced wheel cylinders and front brake hoses. I noticed when having to stop you had to pump the brake pedal the first time and after that the brakes felt great. May need bleeding or possibly bad power booster. Does have a crack in the windshield far right side. Rest of the glass is good. Missing lower front grill insert but is availble through parts depot for $60. He picked up a set of 1979 Z-28 factory gold turbine aluminum finned wheels with new lug nuts but no centers. They are availble at an extra cost of $250. All in all a good father son or daughter project that can be driven the way it is and fixed as you go along or put it in the corner of the garage for a rainy day. These 3rd generation Camaros are rising sharpley in value with each passing year and its hard to find one that hasnt been through the mill already. We are pricing it to sell. We have a current registration and proper dealer paper work for a smooth transaction. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the close of auction and balance to be paid within 3 days if auctions end.
