1967 Chevrolet Camaro - Running and Driving - 383 motor - manual
1967 Chevrolet Camaro Base Description
Up for sale is my 1967 Camaro.Originally a 6-cylinder / 2 speed auto car.I have owned the car for the past 15+ years. This past winter I took it over to a local classic car shop and had them go over it and completely rebuild the engine. He disassembledthe entire engine, tested the block and heads and re-assembled (with new bearings, lifters, etc). $4,500 dollars worth of work. The engine runs perfectly. Also just installed anew griffin aluminum radiator. Car runs, drives, stops, starts, turns, etc. just fine.
No major mechanical issues. Buy it today and take it for a cruise around town this weekend!
Engine itself is a 383 4-bolt stroker motor with all aftermarket internals (Eagle crank / rods, World Sportsman Heads, Federal Mogul Pistons, Elgin Cam). Has a Holly 650 and Hooker Headers. 4-speed muncie transmission. Runs on 91+ Octane gas. The clutch, and friction plate were replaced right before I put it into storage. So the clutch has plenty of life.
As you can see from the pictures, the body itself has some rust, mainly the back lower quarter panel and in the trunk.
Interior was totally redone right before I bought the car, so that is in good shape.
Car has original manual steering and manual drum breaks, all in working condition.
Car itself is not an RS/SS, etc. Plain Jane Camaro.
If there is a picture you want, just ask I can go out to the garage and take it!
