1966 Chevrolet Impala Convertible - NO RESERVE
1966 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Description
1966 Chevy Impala - Offered at No Reserve
The great thing about this Impala is that it offers you the ability to drive it this season and work on it over the winter. It's a driver that has lots of potential. Passed Massachusetts safety inspection in August of 2016.
My older son shot a video of my younger son and I driving the car today. I've uploaded it to YouTube:

The Impala runs and drives well. The original 327 and 2-speed Powerglide transmission has been replaced with a more modern 1990-ish Chevy 350 motor and TH400 automatic transmission. The motor has headers and true dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips. The top end has an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor. Carb struggles a bit until it warms up, so will be sold with a 3 month old Edelbrock 1405 carb in the box. Brand new Petronix distributor and coil as well. Brand new gas tank. The engine sounds great with the exhaust - it does not smoke and makes no abnormal noises. Mileage is unknown.
The new Chevy Rally Wheels are in great shape as are the Cooper Cobra radial tires. Has some Impala SS badging including a 427 emblems on the fender, but it is ABSOLUTELY NOT an SS car. A 1960's or early 1970's used car dealer sticker is still on the bumper from South Carolina.
The seats and door panels appear original. All gauges work as well as the Audiovox radio, horn, headlights and interior lights. The directionals (blinkers) work intermittently. Steering wheel and dash have no cracks.
All glass is good and intact and functions just fine, up and down, including the wings.
The Impala has power brakes and is an original air conditioning car. The interior AC control and most of the interior components are still there. Condenser and compressor under the hood are not there. Brakes stop the car on a dime but they are pulling to the left.
The power convertible top works - top goes up and down. Comes with the blue convertible boot as well.
The car is a 20 footer. Looks great. There is filler on the quarter panel wheels openings and the rockers. The floor has been patched in a couple of spots. There are a couple small of 'Duplicolor Brush style' touch-ups around the car.
If the Impala makes it to the end of the auction, it will sell to the highest bidder. However, please feel free to make an offer. I will end the auction early for an acceptable offer. You are welcome to inspect the car.
If you are having the Impala shipped, I am happy to assist your carrier. Will be delivered with a clear Massachusetts title. $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction end.
