You are bidding on a 1968 Chevelle SS396 Clone (Malibu originally) with only 57k miles and EVERYTHING WORKS, even the air conditioning! This car was originally from Arizona and is super-solid! The interior has been redone and the tires and rims are also newer. Runs and drives beautifully! TURN KEY...fly in and drive this one home!
This is a rare muscle car that's in very nice condition with all systems working beautifully! A true muscle car that runs great, and even has ice-cold AC! The current owner has owned it for 10 years and it has only been driven in nice weather, no snow, salt or even rain and has been stored in a heated garage. He keeps his cars immaculate. He is selling this car out of his collection as his tastes have changed.
The 396ci motor and TH400 trans are not the original to the car but it has that authentic look. The newer pearl white interior pops against the deep black paint.
This is a rare classic car with a reserve to protect some of its value. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale. Bid retractions are not accepted. Retracting your bid for an incorrect amount without entering a corrected amount is a clear attempt to reveal the Reserve as well as a violation of eBay policy. We block bidders who violate this policy and report the violation to eBay.
The Body is in great shape and is super straight with no major dings or dents! It had a high end repaint during a partial restoration. Being an older restoration it is in super condition still! All the floors, trunk and exterior panels are original except for the passenger quarter which had past damaged and was replaced during the restoration.
The car was repainted the current black and the paint job was professionally done with great depth and has that Mile-Deep look. The paint is still very nice and shiny with no runs or sags and has a nice deep wet look. Being an older paint job, it does have some minor flaws, passenger-side top of quarter panel at roof, and a couple other small cracks pictured. Again no major dents scratches or swirl marks. It's respectable but no longer a concourse car because of some of the paint flaws. Some restoration to these areas would make this car a show-winner again! Barring that, the rest of the car is in beautiful shape! The chrome, stainless and brite work pieces are in great shape with just the minor aging from sitting. These items could be buffed/polished out. The weatherstrippings are original GM pieces and are in good condition. Windshield and glass are all in good condition. Rear bumper is in great condition, nice and shiny with no pitting. Vinyl top is in great shape, no rips or damage. No bubbling from under the top either.
The Interior is in exceptional condition for it's age! No fading, rips, tears or issues. Seats and carpeting have been replaced recently. The door panels, console and dash still look great! Could use a detailing to bring out all the beauty.
Headlights, marker lights, directionals, horn, radio and HVAC controls ALL WORK! All the dash gauges and instrument lights work. Even the ignition buzzer works! All the windows, doors, locks, hood and trunk operate as they should.
The Drivetrain components are NOT the original units it was born with. The drivetrain, brakes and suspension systems were all overhauled during a restoration. The engine is a 396ci 4bbl that was rebuilt with more performance and bigger cam for the great rumble. Engine starts right up and runs beautifully smooth with no noise, smoke or even leaks! The TH400 transmission runs and shifts great, it will even bark the tires between gears. It was rebuilt and a shift kit added. This muscle car runs great, shifts fine, steers where you want her and has new (4-wheel drum) brakes which were just installed.
The Undercarriageis in super-clean original condition. The floor pans and frame are original and in GREAT condition! Frame, floor pans, trunk drop-offs and rockers are all original and in super-solid painted condition. The stock-appearing exhaust system is in really good condition. The 15" B.F.Goodrich tires are in great shape with lots of tread and the Newer Cragar rims complete the package.
Other info:
The car is an older restoration and has had a couple of owners who drove and enjoyed it. It could use a whole car detailing to bring out its beauty. It's not perfect but can be enjoyed as is or with minimal investment restored to its "Like New" condition.
Comes with 2 sets of keys and clear Ohio title clear Ohio title showing 56,082 ACTUAL miles with the odometer showing 57,658 miles.
Factory spare tire and jack are in the trunk.
No trades.
I realize that it is difficult to purchase a vehicle you may not be able to inspect in person. I build vehicles too - so I try to show you everything I would want to see if I was buying a vehicle for myself. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my vehicles accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy buyers worldwide so you can be confident when making a purchase.
I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It's not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.
