If the word “original” is important in your Corvette purchase this is the vehicle for you. This is a 1966 number matching 327-300hp Corvette roadster in stunning condition! It underwent a mostly cosmetic restoration in 2004. At that time, the Rally Red paint and interior were restored to original specifications. The paint is clean and shiny and the interior is very clean and well kept. The drivetrain was restored by a previous owner. It includes the original AM/FM radio, clock, wood steering wheel, & finned corvette valve covers. It includes reproduction knock off wheels, new white soft top with new rubber, and a new exhaust system. Current mileage is 83,Xx. This vehicle runs and looks great. This car has a surprisingly minor amount of visible wear in the engine compartment and undercarriage which is a testament to its care and condition over the years.
An appraisal of condition and value at $45,000 from June 2009 is included in this listing with a rating of “good” to “very good” on all categories. It was done by Classic & Collectible Cars here in Las Vegas and they are in operation today. I would encourage any buyer to inquire directly with them or their own appraiser.
A little providence on this car: I purchased this car from a friend of mine in July 2009. He had the car for approximately four years before selling to me after a divorce. Prior to his ownership, it was explained to me that the previous owner had the car for approximately 10 to 20 years. The car at one point was put on a trailer, and the trailer was hit creating some small damage to the front right fender. Because it is a collector car, the owner had FULL replacement coverage and he received a full payout. The car went to auction where my friend purchased it. He had the fender replaced in Victorville California and the car was repainted. Some weather stripping was replaced, along with the carpet and front seats. They went through the entire engine for a check, tune, etc. and everything checked out well. The car held a clear California title, of which I have a copy. When I titled the vehicle in Nevada they classified it as a “rebuild title/total loss” due to the 100% payout from the insurance company. It is very clear on inspection of this vehicle that it has never been damaged beyond the fender noted above, and all equipment is still original. Once again, I would encourage any buyer to submit the vehicle to a full inspection where this can be verified. I also understand this can be challenged with the help of a title attorney and it may not be classified as such if you are registering in another state, although I make no warranties to this as it is not my area of expertise. I had run this information through my appraiser and like me, it is a non-issue for most people as the vehicle is clearly original and in excellent condition.
