1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sedan "Black Widow"
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description
This super cool 1957 Chevrolet 150 has received a very meticulous frame off restoration. The idea behind this build was to incorporate the look of the infamous "Black Widow" that was produced by SEDCO and sponsored by Chevrolet in 1957 as a factory race car. This particular 57 has a couple of updated features that would make it more suitable for driving than racing. Starting with a solid donor the body was removed from the frame where it was perfected and prepped for paint while the chassis received the same treatment with new hammer tone gray paint and all new suspension components and bushings. A new CPP power steering box was added along with drop spindles and power Wilwood disc brakes and drilled rotors. As you can see the body of the car is arrow straight with a perfect fit and finish and the black paint has a deep mirror finish to it and the bottom of the car received the same treatment as the top side. All chrome, stainless, glass and weather stripping look great as well. The interior has been completely finished in new and looks amazing while keeping true to the traditional Black Widow styling. The car also received a new air conditioning unit that works great on those hot summer days. The drive train in this car consist of a freshly built 350 V8 topped with an authentic GM "snowflake" aluminum intake with an Edelbrock carb and headers. Keeping everything cool is an oversized aluminum radiator with a custom built shroud and electric fan. The transmission is a Borg Warner 5 speed. The engine runs super smooth and strong and the transmission shifts excellent with no issues. Drive train is completely in sync with itself with no slop or vibrations. The car comes with two sets of wheels, one set is the original black widow style white steel wheels with bias tires and the others are a set of 18" Foose alloy wheels. The car is super tight and sound on the road and is one of the most impressive drivers I have got behind the wheel of. You can drive this car at interstate speeds with no issues. Usually when you drive these cars at 75-80mph you get a lot of wind noise and vibrations, not in this one, it feels just as smooth as a late model car. This beauty needs nothing and is ready to show and go....
