1958 Chevrolet Other Pickups Apache 36 Description

This is 'Hondo'.
Relisted due to a buyer who failed to complete the transaction.
It is a mostly rust free 1958 Apache 36 4x4.
It is NOT a NAPCO.
It has a NP205 transfer case and a closed knuckle DANA 44 front axle.
It has a Truck Hydramatic automatic transmission.
This is a very solid truck built in Oakland, CA.
The frame and body are solid with only a few bubbles on the right front fender and passenger door.
There is some surface patina on some painted areas.
The glass is intact, in good shape with some scratches etc, for an old truck.
The 235 I6 engine runs strong, it has 2 Rochester carbs on an Offenhauser intake. It has Fenton headers with dual exhaust.
It has an electronic ignition module out of 1980's AMC Eagle.
The driveline works as it should. The 2-3 shift is hard sometimes, but if you know, this is a characteristic of the Hydramatic. You can play with the TV rod adjustment if you want to, but it works fine for me.
It has new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, shocks and tires.
It is still equipped with the original 17.5 - 8 8-lug wheels.
I put new bearings and seals in the front axle, changed seals and fluids in the front and rear axles and transfer case.
This truck is set up in very original condition with some mods to bring it into the stone age.
The speedo does not work, the mileage is unknown, but the condition of the frame indicates a low mileage unit, the turn signals work.
The radio is an aftermarket unit made to look like original and works, but not as well as it should.
It is in great shape for a 60 year old machine, but it is not perfect.
If you are looking for perfection, try one of those TV show auctions. This truck is the real deal if you want an old truck that you can drive daily.
This is an opportunity to actually own an Apache 36 4x4 that you can have fun driving and using as a truck without worrying about scratching it.
The bed wood is not great but its OK for now.
