1971 Chevrolet Nova SS Description

This 1971 Chevrolet Nova was originally equipped with a six-cylinder and has been modified with a rebuilt 350ci V8, Turbo 350automatic transmission, and a Positraction rear end. The build was initiated five years ago by the previous owner with the installation of the engine and front clip. The body was repainted and the top end was serviced in 2016, and theHolley 650 4-bbl carburetor was rebuilt in 2017. Additional modifications includebolt-on frame connectors, racing seats,a custom dash, and SS badging. The car is well-mannered on the street, and maintains steady temperature.

The body was restored and green metallic paint applied to a high standard in 2016 followingthe installationa new steel cowl induction hood and a lower quarter panel repair. Window trims have been matched to the body color, and Magnum 500 wheels with SS center caps are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. SS badging and white racing stripes were added. The chrome bumpers show some light surface corrosion.

The interior was fully refurbished and modified witha new carpet kit, dash pad, door cards, racing seats, and a custom aluminum instrument panel. A racing wheel, factory tilt column, billet accelerator pedal, and B&M ratchet shifter finish the driver's compartment. A-pillar trims, the ashtray, and the rear view mirror are currently missing. 800 miles are shown on the odometer, and total mileage is unknown.

Adjustable 3R Racingbuckets are equipped with latch-and-link racing-style lap belts. Custom rear upholstery was installed to complement the front seats.

Therebuilt 350ci Chevrolet V8 motor was installed five years ago and featuresperformance modifications including billet pulleys, tubular headers, a Griffen aluminum radiator, and an MSD electronic ignition. A new Edelbrock cam, lifters, and Performer aluminum intake manifold were installed in 2016, and the Holley 650 4-bbl carburetor was rebuilt earlier this year. Power is put to the rear wheels through a TH350 transmission driving a 12-bolt Positraction differential. A racing fuel cell has been installed in the trunk.

The replacement subframe is from Chris Alston's Chassisworks, installed with bolt-on subframe connectors. The new front clip features modernizations such as tubular A-arms, coilover shocks, and power rack-and-pinion steering. The underside condition is further documented in gallery photographs.
