1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3 window Description

The design of this build was to produce custom concours quality 1951 Chevrolet pickup with a main focus of being reliable. From start to finish the truck took over two years to complete. The process started with the long search for an extremely straight untouch original truck. Once acquired the whole truck was media blasted to bare metal. The only places that needed to be address were the truck's cab corners. Which were cut and replaced with new metal, not bondo. The paint quality is better than factory being finished off in sherwin williams bright red.
The motor is a fuel injected Lkq 5.3 liter engine with relocated coil packs to keep the engine compartment looking clean. A 4L60 overdrive transmission is connected to a zr2 s10 posi-trac rear differential with all new seals and axle bearings. Chassis-works independent front suspension includes rack and cross member to ensure proper geometry with custom frame fabrication to retain a stock ride height. Wilwood front brakes were installed and provide amazing braking performance. There is a crank down spare tire hidden beneath the bed. The original ebrake pedal/linkage was modified to work with the new differential setup.
The interior features clean custom work including a steering column, gauges, and custom seat frame modification for a folding seat back which allows storage plus access to battery switch and jumper terminals. To keep things comfortable Vintage air was installed with digital controls. Power windows were installed with custom switches to appear as a stock window crank. A full photo album of the build process and invoices are available. The truck has approx 5,000 miles driven after completion. The overall build cost for this vehicle was $90k.
