1983 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

1983 Chevrolet Car Hauler Custom Built car hauler w/wheel lift - I purchased this truck in 1999 and built it for my personal use - I've hardly used if for the last 5 or 6 years - when I first purchased it, I had the 454 completelyoverhauled, added a late model 5 speed standard overdrive trans., and installed a dually rear end for extra width - this year I had some paint peeling and a little bit of hail on the hood, and started getting it ready for a new paint job, but the older I get, I've decided not to paint if myself, but to sell it needing a paint job - the body is very straight and rust free - when I first bought it, I took the truck to Hodges Custom Haulers in Benton, Kentucky, and had the custom bed fabricated and left room for the 8 ft. x 3 ft. day sleeper - they built and installed the 18 ft. x 8 ft. bed w/dove tail as shown - it has a 12,500 lb. winch with a self storing wheel lift ( many of the Hodges beds are not built with a wheel lift, this one does have one ) so it can haul one can and tow one at the same time - it has many extras: self storing ramps w/self storing ramps w/side shift for narrow track cars ( I have lots of small early Hondas ) - heavy gauge deck - stainless wheel covers and wheel opening liners ( not chrome ) - original early camaro hood vents - 6 new tires this week ( Terramax H/T 235/85R16 ) - new battery - self storing ladder rack ( very handy for moving long items, ladders, poles, walk boards, etc. ) - bucket seats - sleeper has been properly cut through from the cab for easy assess - large aluminum air foil - the pictures don't do it justice, needing a paint job, but it is a very straight truck, and when I first built it, I installed new fenders, hood, grille, rechromed bumper, large sunroof, etc - if it matters, the original cab was an air conditioned diesel, so air could be added with some under hood parts - I've got this just about ready for paint as shown - I recently painted my one ton dump trunk, bit it was white and just the cab, but this is larger and black, and wants a real nice paint job, and at my age, I've decided I just don't feel up to it - this is one sharp looking truck, it just needs a paint job - *Note* I also just noticed that one of the rear ratchet tie downs and one side ofit since I first built it appx. 18 years ago - it is for sale at $11,500 or best serious offer - I reserve the right to end this listing early as the truck is listed locally -
