1965 Chevrolet Impala super sport ss convertible conv 1966 1967 1968 1969 1970
1965 Chevrolet Impala SUPER SPORT Description
This car was owned for the past 51 years by the same owner.. Bought back in 1967 the owner bought it at a local Mercedes dealership, kept it until this year as he is now 75. The car has a great history, never modified and still has a 2 barrel carb and single exhaust. The vehicle runs and stops great and only has been driven 2800 miles in the past 17 years going by the last inspection done in 2000. I have not driven the vehicle much, but do know the the original 283 was changed out back in the mid 1980's for a 1971 350 the owner told me, I have not checked the numbers on the engine. The car has had some rust repairs in the back 1/4 panels and has bondo in them. The car looks very nice from 10 feet, but was painted also in the mid 80's. The car has power windows, the original interior still looks pretty good, no rips. I would give it a tune up, maybe change the tires as they are 20 years old, but have a lot of tread left and are not dry rotted just old. Someone is getting a great car and a real SS Convertible.. It does have a slight oil leak, either back valve cover or rear main seal, have not checked as it just sits in my garage. The top is black and is the original top with glass window, 1 or 2 small tears less then and inch.. power top works great.. The rear pass floor pan was replaced, I would redo the floor with a newer floor pan that they now make for these cars, it is more correct. wont last, reason for sale is a car I owned 20 years ago just became available for sale so I will try to buy that car, if not, I am happy to own this car. copy of the title release from 1971 after it was paid off is pictured.. selling as is due to age.. 52 years old.
