1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 4-Speed! Description

1970 SS 396 factory 4-speed El Camino. Not a clone. Very few Super Sports were 4 speeds as most had automatic transmissions. All original drive train. Very desirable Cranberry red with black vinyl top and saddle (tan) bench seat interior. This is a 3 color car: red, black, and tan. The Chevy is very straight and rust free.
Date coded and numbers matching350 horse 396 motor (CTX code), factory muncie M-21 close ratio 4 speed transmission, and original 12-bolt 3.31 posi traction rear differential (CCF code). In addition the SS is equipped with manual steering, disc brakes, and tach/gauges.
I took the carpet and seat out to show how solid the floors are in the SS. I bolted the seat back in but it needs new carpet. The dash is uncut and still has the factory AM radio. I have the original chrome valve covers and stock stamped steel rocker arms that come with the car.
It needs paint, but it doesn't need any rust repair or panel replacement. This is a very straight car and rust free car. The frame is very solid without rust issues. Needs typical interior pieces: Seat cover, carpet, headliner, and door panels
The El Camino runs, drives, turns, and stops. The motor has less than 5 miles on a professional rebuild. The SS has been off the road since 1997. Very reasonable reserve price.
The SS 396 El Camino has the exact same drive train as an SS 396 Chevelle. Even the motor/transmission/rear end codes are the same. The big difference is you get a truck bed instead of a back seat.

Prospective buyers are welcome and encouraged to come inspect the El Camino before bidding. The car is located approx. 1 hour south of Seattle. Returns not accepted. Price adjustments will not be made. Buyer responsible for shipping.

I am available via phone (253) 948-7756 to answer questions about the El Camino. The SS has clear Washington state title. Acceptable payment methods are cash or wire transfer. The SS is also advertised locally and I reserve the right to cancel and end the auction early if a local buyer emerges.
